I tried to buy a small hand chainsaw today, I was asked to prove I am over 18, which is fair enough. They asked for my card details which I gave, then was told that they did not accept debit cards just credit cards.
I am 75yrs old and quite put out by this, I have never had a credit card and don't want one. I have bought and sold on ebay for many years. It may be a safety policy, but when I tried to contact the seller to ask if I could prove my age any other way, a notice from ebay came up and said they could not send the message as this was not something the seller could deal with, looks like I will be on Facebook Marketplace in future.

Yes I realise its for safety, but I don't want to have to get a credit card just to buy, I will get one from town, thanks anyway
