Buyers Protection Fee

Hi All. This may sound like a couple of silly questions, but here goes, lol.

As a private seller, I start the majority of my items at .99p, which now including this stupid ' Buyers Protection Fee ' pushes the start price up to 1.75 ! Firstly, are ebay going to drop this Fee? As its definitely effecting my sales, and secondly, I've noticed that businesses are still showing at .99p, is there no Buyers Protection Fee if your a business?

TIA

Re: Buyers Protection Fee

Unlikely but you never know, and correct, the fee is for private sellers only.

Re: Buyers Protection Fee

I do hope so, otherwise they will lose alot of their private sellers, it will just be a waste of time for us/me anyway. Why is it that its only affecting private sellers when surely if buyers need protection, they need it from everyone?!?! If its to do with not accepting returns, tell me how to turn that on, and I'll accept them lol. Its just an absolute joke now.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Re: Buyers Protection Fee

As listing for private sellers is now free I suppose they have to make money from somewhere.

Re: Buyers Protection Fee

The problem is, it's not free, so thats them telling lies really. They have dressed it up as if it's free, but it isn't as they are putting another price on top of our prices and charging the buyer through us. So in a way, it isn't free.

Thankyou for your quick replies.

Re: Buyers Protection Fee

It is free to sell for private sellers. Just the buyer pays a premium. If you sell an item for £10 you receive £10 as long as you don’t pay for added services or the item goes overseas.

there are many threads on this matter where you can impose your views.
