Buyer won multiple auctions and paid for all in 1 transaction but "simple delivery" has not combined

A buyer recently one 7 auctions all on the same day and paid for them in a single transaction once they'd one the final auction.

They were all sold with "simple delivery" so according to ebay they should have automatically been combined under one postage label. Instead the buyer has had to pay shipping 7 times and has now (understandably) asked for a refund of some of the postage costs.

This is not the first time that I've had this issue but in the months since ebay launched simple postage I would have hoped they'd resolved this issue and made it fit for purpose.

If I post all 7 of the items all together under a label from one listing will the other 6 unused labels be refunded to the buyer? Do I have to generate all 7 labels and only use 1 or do I just generate a label for one of the items and then leave the other 6 un-generated?

Also, if I do post all the items together then I assume if the parcel goes missing or is damaged I'd only  be covered for the value of the item whose label I'd used, not the value of all the items?

Can ebay please work on resolving this issue with combined simple postage items it's ridiculous it isn't working still.

Yep,  annoyingly combining postage is still not working.

If you post all the items together,   the buyer if they paid for the postage,  will receive a postage refund for the 6 unused label, but this will take 30 days.

You also open yourself up to case for item not received as you have proof only,  of sending one item.

A bit of a faff,  but the best way forward is to cancel the orders,  withe the buyer's acceptance so that there's no defect on your account,  cancel citing ' Buyer Requests to Cancel,  then relist them all together so there's one postage label,  one tracking for all the items.

As said,  not ideal,  and yes we'll agree this should have been solved long ago, as it's affecting all sellers.

One idea, for the time being,  some sellers are leaving a message on their listing,  for example.....   ' If you wish to buy multiple items,  please let me know before buying,  I will relist them as one listing so only one postage cost is charged, combining postage is not currently possible. '
