Buyer wants refund for an item I have proof of postage

I recently sold Bose headphones brand new.

I was on holiday when they purchased so I didn’t inform them that I will post as soon as I get home.

I returned on the Easter Friday with post office is shut until Tuesday. I posted on the Tuesday with the requested tracked 48 postage.

Response saying the item hasn’t arrived on Thursday and opened a dispute wanting a refund.

They informed me after postage that they will now be out the country which if I had known beforehand I would have cancelled the item and issued a refund.

I have proof of postage but cannot seemed to upload anywhere.

can anyone help with doing this? Roth. The dispute it only wants a tracking barcode which I don’t seem to have in the receipt

thank you

Proof of postage is not needed here,  to close a case for item not received,  you have to enter  the tracking number showing delivery.

If tracking does not prove this, you need to accept and refund through those case details within 3 days,  if not,  the buyer can escalate the case to eBay,  who will force the refund and you'll also get a damaging defect on your account.

Did you pay for your postage with a card?

If so, there would have been two receipts, one for payment and the other a proof of posting.

You will have a tracking number, not a barcode for 48 hour tracked.  It is 16 digits long, letters and numbers and will look like this '0210-HD46-7533-B365'.

If you have this code, contact Ebay Customer Services and ask them to add it to your sale, or add it to the case the buyer has opened.

You can check the tracking yourself on the RM website.

Hopefully your item will get delivered and they will close the case.

You will already probably have a defect for late postage, but now a case has been opened you have 3 days to deal with it, and sithout tracked proof of delivery, you will lose.
