Buyer protection fees

Hi - why is eBay telling us it is still free to sell on eBay?  If I have to drop my price by 4 or 5% to win a sale then I kinda think I am picking up the fee myself as the seller.  It would be like telling UK companies that it makes no difference what VAT rate applies, because the buyers pay it, it will never impact your profits!  I am wondering if someone needs to go to business school? 😉

In my opinion a very badly thought out scheme. Far better to pay fees as before instead of conning buyers into thinking they are getting something new, when buyer protection was free.

Trying to sell low value items is a dead loss, it was impossible to sell before, so I do not imagine I will be selling anything at all in the future.
