And it stopped working properly yesterday and I wanted to know if the buyer gets the same warranty on new products as a buyer would get in Argos or Currys.

The seller on here is not taking ownership and basically told me to *bleep* off when I asked for a refund

eBay don't offer any kind of warranty unless the item is being sold on a UK business account as refurbished and it actually states that there's an eBay warranty on the item.

a buyer gets whatever warranty the sellers gives them, but for the buyer to enforce the warranty is another question.

eBay don't get involved in warranties.

You could try approaching your payment provider or citizens advice.

Lesson learned
Won't be buying anything electrical from eBay ever again

What I don't like is the smug attitude from the seller basically laughing
as the item didn't last very long, was hardly used and he ripped me off

I would only buy anything electrical from a reputable online seller or the high street.

I think, with any purchase from anywhere, you just have to ask yourself how your money is protected if something goes wrong.
