Bonsaii 12-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder P4 Security 20 Min Run Time, 16L Bin

I purchased the above item on Ebay at the beginning of November last year. After only very light usage it broke 2 months down the line. I contacted the seller and, after several messages back and forth, he agreed to give me a 40% refund but has not refunded me, despite me messaging him several times. This has been going on now for over 2 months trying to sort the problem out with the seller and he just isn't responding and is just dragging the whole situation out. Has anybody else bought the above shredder, or any other items that they have had problems with? Have you managed to get a decent outcome or is he just not answering your message too?
I have tried going through Customer Support but didn't get anywhere. This is probably because it is now several months that I have been trying to sort this issue out with the seller and he has taken ages to respond and is now just ignoring my messages so well over 4 months has now passed since I bought the item with the selling using delaying tactics to communicate back to me! Thanks.

When you use ebay to buy,in most cases you get 30 days buyer protection,so you use that if you have issues with an item, but you relied on the seller and didn't use the ebay option,so now your out of time to do anything via ebay.

Best you contact your payment provider,so your credit card provider if you paid that way for example.

If you need further advice contact your local citizens advice centre.

Hi plum993,

Thanks for your reply, it was much appreciated. The shredder I bought broke outside of the 30 day buyer protection which is why I messaged the seller. He seemed very genuine but, in the end, he just wouldn't pay the refund he agreed. I have learned my lesson with buying goods on Ebay now. This is the first really bad experience I have had over the years of using Ebay but will be very wary from now on. I don't think my credit card company will be able to do anything as the item was paid for on 5th November 2024 and, with all the delays with the seller taking ages to reply, it is now over 4 months since the transaction took place. I will just have to suck it up as they say! Do you know how I would go about reporting this seller to Ebay?
