Hi there. I recently purchased an item that automatically went through the authentication process. I then got an email from eBay saying that it failed and that I would receive a full refund, which I got. I’m now being asked to provide feedback on the seller, however I’ve not been in contact since. Is there any recourse from eBay re the seller directly, as a result? I’m unsure what to do.

Just don't leave feedback if you don't want to, it's a voluntary process.
The seller will have been told that his item failed authentication, and that's about it. It's likely that he was unaware that it wasn't authentic.

As you did not ever receive the item, genuinely I would not leave feedback.
Items fail authentication for a variety of reasons, including amall errors in the listing.
As you don't know the complete circumstances, to me it would seem unfair to leave feedback.
Just my opinion, obviously.

Sellers can't really do anything - it's not a topic for discussion, they are just told the same as you are, that the item has failed the process, the buyer has been refunded and the item is returned to them.
I would not expect the seller to contact you.

Personally I don't think you should leave any feedback.
Failing the authentication process doesn't necessarily mean that the item was counterfeit. We don't know what reason was given, but they usually just state that the authenticator was unable to establish that it was authentic.
If this is the case, the process has done it's job. The item may or may not have been authentic, but where there's any doubt the item is returned to the seller rather than risk sending you a potentially counterfeit item. So you have no evidence either way to leave feedback.
