Twice in one week I've been put on a restriction for "selling counterfeit perfume" and when I've contacted Ebay no one can tell me why they think this! Of course it's not, but to be accused of this and not be told why is very frustrating! The human I did speak to can't even remove the selling restriction, I have to wait 7 days.
This happened last week and again, no real reason, had to wait 3 days, this was a different perfume, after that I was told I could relist it, but this one they're telling me not to?! What is going on? I feel really like someone's out to get me at this point!
I have appealed, but I'm not holding much hope, I don't really have proof other than batch code on the box if that means anything, I've had these perfumes a while so didn't bother keeping receipts. I'm just confused why this is suddenly happening?

The only thing unfair is the way that message is written. The claim the item is 'not authentic' is not explaining the true issue here.
High brand items are protected by Vero Regulations and policies. It was the brand owner, not eBay who asked for the removal of your item.
There are so many fakes of high brand items and impossible to check authenticty for online items, even receipts can be faked, I know, my work took me to the Far East for decades , and fake receipts made there, are impossible to tell from the real deal.
You may well see identical items listed, the site is massive over 7 billion + listings on at any one time, so not possible to check every listing, and some slip the net and become listed.
Your item has been reported do not relist it, you would face serious selling restrictions.
You can read about Vero's policies from a link at the bottom of most eBay pages.

adding to the advice already given -
It's possible that questions are being asked as you, as a private seller, have so many new items for sale.

It's possible that you got flagged up because your account has a history of selling brand new perfumes, some multiples of the same too.
A private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such as clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc, they wouldn't have multiples of brand new perfumes to sell over the years.
Hopefully you've kept receipts, because you may find HMRC asking about this when eBay report sales to them in January. They'll require you to prove that you're a private seller just listing perfume you previously bought but no longer want.

I don't have them unfortunately I didn't realise I'd need them, because I had either bought them a long time ago but just never got around to using them, or they're unwanted gifts.
What will HMRC do if I can't show receipts?

I see! Is there a way I can contact them and say, hey, it's not fake?
Yes the message is very accusatory, like you're judged immediately without evidence 😣

It's honestly just my insanely large perfume collection. Ones bought but not used, then realise eh, I'll sell it, or unwanted gifts.

Nope ,no point contacting eBay, as said, it's not them, but the Brand owners themselves asking for its removal and as they cannot see the item in question they will not allow it to be sold online.
Please do not try and relist it, you have been flagged up and relisting could cost you your selling account.

No-one knows what HMRC will do next year when they get the reports.

Hopefully nothing accusatory like what ebay send you 🙄
