A seller on eBay sent me wrong item.

Seller sent me wrong item. I contacted seller outcome was she is going to relist item I won and purchased as she said she was getting it back from who she sent it to incorrectly. This is NOT ethical and I have raised a complaint with eBay. Really difficult to raise a complaint and I feel info given by eBay customer service is wrong. Very hard to get help

Re: A seller on eBay silver-4u sent me wrong item.

You do not need to contact eBay for this and it's not difficult to receive a refund for a wrongly sent item .

eBay's 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee is written on the right hand side of every listing explaining how to receive a full refund when you receive the wrong item.

Listen to the seller no more just proceed this way:

You have received an item not as described,  so you are guaranteed a full refund under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  if you claim within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.

You then go right of the item in your Purchase History,  and from More Actions select Return this item,  selecting the reason...  Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.

The seller has 3 days to accept the case,  if they don't ,  you need to  escalate on day 4,  or within 30 days,  and eBay will step in and force the refund.

If the seller wants the item back first,  they need to pay for a fully tracked return postage.  On receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you.  Again,  if they don't,  you escalate the case.

Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give,  and do not forget to escalate.

It sounds as if the seller sent out two items and they went to the wrong people.

It does happen.

When sellers accidentally do this, the best way for them to deal with it is for both buyers to open 'not as described' cases, as you have been advised to do.

Then, refund both buyers on return of the items.

Then, relist the items so the original buyers can purchase them again if they wish.

As long as you return the item you did receive, through a case and at the seller's expense, you will get all of the money back that you paid out originally and will be in a position to buy the item you wanted again.

None of this is unethical or against Ebay policy.  It is an effective way of dealing with a difficult situation.
