So a few days ago I opened a case for a return on a faulty item. The seller and me were in communication for the first day afterward where it became clear we weren't going to come to an agreement, so we stopped messaging each other until 3 days had passed and we could ask ebay to step in. Then today(the day before Ebay can intervene) out of the blue the seller messaged me saying they were in my area next week and would collect the item from my house to save on postage costs. This seems reasonable, however I'm aware that if they collect the item from my house there's no proof anywhere that the item really was returned, putting my chances of recieving a refund at risk. Are there any rules or policies against me requesting the refund before this to ensure I don't get cheated?
