eBay GSP service

I have just had  a problem with an item which was deemed ok to send through eBay GSP. Apparently the third party provider (Pitney Bowes) decided in their wisdom not to send item on to buyer. I cannot find out from eBay (live chat for 40 minute!) why it was not sent. NO explanation what will happen to item. Has anyone else had this problem?

If an item reaches the GSP hub and it's deemed to not be allowed to be sent on then it should be returned to you.

Did you check that the item was suitable for shipping to the buyer's country? might be good place to start.

It was deemed ok when I listed item and as I have sent these items worldwide before and this was ok for buyers destination I didnt envisage any problems. eBay cannot give me a n explanation and told me they didnt have any contact details for GSP!!

It's not deemed ok just by letting you list, it's up to you to check the item's suitablility, that's what it says whenever you list an item for sale overseas. I would just hang fire and see if the item does come back to you before grilling eBay, although as far as the buyer is concerned you obviously you need to refund them for that, you can't let them be out of pocket. Out of interest what was the item?

Sometimes items are OK for some countries, but not others.
