Seller protection

Anyone know when ebay is going to start offering sellers as much protection as buyers, who they bend over backwards for?

Had 3 unpaids in the last week and there's nothing you can do as a seller other than get your fees back as ebay no longer allows you to leave negative feedback even when it's 100% warranted.

At the moment, they know they can just ride rough-shod over the whole system.

And if you do the decent thing and try to warn others via what ebay calls 'positive-negative' feedback, ebay tells you off.

It's become a very lop-sided system unfortunately

Yes,  the bias is in favour of the buyer on the whole,  but in cases of unpaid item....   no.

As you have found out ,  it's not possible to leave ,  however frustrating,  however wll meaning,   leaving warnings for others,  it's just not allowed.

It was indeed stopped 12 years ago.  It became tit for tat,  and some sellers holding buyers to ' ransom' to change feedback...   or else!

Look at it this way.  you leave that warning feedback.  Myself and millions of others only selling Buy it Now items,  do not have the time to read your warning feedback,  and that potential  serial seller wrecker comes and buys my item,  with no intention of paying.

Now,  use the tools that eBay provide,  open and close that unpaid item case.  It gives that ' buyer'  a strike on their account.  They get two,  and they cannot buy from me,  and the countless others on eBay for a full  12 months.

Far more effective,  and I can see it works ,  as I can see a few non payers blocked from buying from me.

Of course it isn't. When you complete an Unpaid Case NO FEEDBACK can be left. Why you would want to leave Positive Feedback I cannot think, do you find not being paid a Positive Experience?

Think about it, how are sellers expected to read Warning Feedback. BINS, the seller only knows the buyer AFTER they have bought. With auctions  bids place close to the end leave no time at all for seller to delete if they wanted to.

So much for warnings, they don't work, but can get the seller a policy violation if they are silly enough to leave Negative comment on Positive FB.

Have you never Blocked a Non Payer, or set your Buyer Preferences to block members with 2 or more unpaid strikes.  Works very well  if you use it.

The non payment dispute is there for a reason and when the dispute closes the non payer gets a strike which is much more effective than any feedback

Two or more strikes and they will not be able to buy off many sellers if they have their buyer requirements set to block sellers with non payment strikes

The negative feedback option was removed so long ago I cant remember

Have you set yours as tight as you can

It does not stop all non ;payers but helps

It is not the decent thing to warn others it is not allowed that is why there is no red button for a seller to leave a buyer

By leaving a positive with negative comment  it is against ebay policy and it is you that get the black mark

• If an item has not been paid for 48 hours after the listing ended then you can open an unpaid case here http://resolutioncentre.ebay.co.uk/ (you have up to 32 days to do this if you wish to allow the buyer longer to pay but 2 days is the earliest)

• After opening the case if payment has still not been received after 4 more full days then return to the case & close as unpaid to request a fee credit

• Once a case has been closed you can then relist or make a second chance offer to the underbidder

• Once an unpaid case has been opened the transaction cannot be cancelled, only closing the case after 4 days will do this

• You should not simply cancel a transaction as it may leave you with fees to pay & a selling defect

When a case has been closed in your favour as the seller then the buyer receives a damaging unpaid strike against their account & NEITHER of you may leave feedback

As a seller you can set your account to block bidders with 2 unpaid strikes in 12 months

the option for sellers to leave negative feedback was removed over 12 years ago!!

sellers were holding buyers to ransom and feedback was not showing true,

so ebay removed the option for sellers and introduced non payment strikes instead,

these work really well if sellers do it properly,

when you have a non payer you need to complete a non payment case to get your final value fees refunded and give them a non payment strike

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.html

then add the non payers ID to your blocked list

then set you bidder requirements to block bidders with two or more non payment strikes in the last 12 months
