Opinion - item not delivered

I have recently had an item delivered (loose wording trust me) by Tuffnells, well item signed for at alternate location to be factuallay correct. I have raised a dispute as i know it is not the sellers fault but the sale total value is £660 and the tracking has no signature or details as where parcel was left etc just the term 'signed for by alternate loctaion'.

Obvioulsy i am trying to get my money back but the seller is being clever by stating comoany says item was delivered and provided proof of where item was left, when in fact the pic they provided has the items on the ground with no door numbers in frame to even locate the parcels.

Just wanted peoples thoughts on where i might stand if ebay rule in sellers favour? I cannot get hold of delivery company etc and feel the driver stole the item.

The good news for me is that the courier is a top level firm and although as said they will normally only deal with seller you may find that it is well worth while to make one almighty fuss with them. 

Do so by letter to depot manager or managing director. You can get these details either on the interenet or Companies House website.

Anything could have happened to a missing item.

If the seller has a tracking number which shows delivery to the address you have  given in the Paypal transaction for the item,  then they will win a case.

Open a case in the Resolution Centre link at foot of most pages,  see if that tracking number of theirs works,  and closes the case in their favour.

If it does ,  then the item was delivered as per eBay rulings,  and yes,  seems to have been stolen.

Couriers will only speak with the sender and not the recipient.  You need to have their help to find out what the ' signed for by other location' means. 

 It's a valuable item,  so you  may have to log this theft with the Police.

Think that is the problem it was not delivered to the address proved but signed for by alternate location.

Anyway i guess i better expect the worse

If the item was not delivered to the address you had in the Paypal transaction then the tracking will be invalid, and you will win a case for a refund. Signatures mean nothing, a signature for Mickey Mouse is sufficient it does not have to be the recipient.

Open the case, escalate on days 9 - 21, do NOT close it before it is resolved and do not forget to escalate. @ciaver9

If the item shows delivered then you will lose any dispute on ebay or paypal

Your problem is with the courier or whoever was supposed to deliber the item

You need to contact them 

If you dont have any success then contact Citizens advice and see what advice they give

Couries or whoever will often only speak to the person who paid the postage

Even if delivered to alternate location? Surely that proves it was never delivered to my address.

Anyway i will await outcome from eBay but looks like i should expect the worst

It is not quite clear what you mean when you say Did you have the correct address on ebay?

How is ebay to know what your address looks like?.
All they go by if the tracking and if that says Delivered then you lose
You need to contact the courier and ask them where your item is.

That is fine but my point is if the courier tracking has 'signed for at alternate location' then does that nor show it was not delivered to my address? Also no signature etc

Anyway no problem. Guess i will just get on with it but i may be out £660

I understand what you are saying and it is not unusual to have items stated as Delivered and a buyer saying they have not received it
As said ebay will almost certainly accept the Delivered

If that fails then you could try paypal and make them see that it says an alternative location
They may look more carefully at the tracking

Have you checked all around the outside of your property
Other than that you have to try and sort it out with the courier
That is a lot of money to lose you need to fight it every way you can
