I went into town today, admittedly a very small town, but I couldn't find a single poppy seller despite searching for one. Our local T...o had a table of poppies with 2 sellers way back in the middle of October and I donated but didn't take a poppy as I said I would get one nearer the time, but I haven't been able to find one since then! I had been reserving a little money each week for a few weeks so that I could give a reasonable donation today - then there was nobody to take the money! The result of this is that tomorrow I will have to go to the service with no poppy, how sad is that. After failing to locate any poppies I was looking at everybody else walking around the town - and nobody was wearing one. This has made me feel so sad as it is an appeal close to my heart.

Most of the shops here have a tray on the counter by the till. I have been putting my change in when I shop.

Huh? Bought one in our doctors on monday, then we popped to Morrisons yesterday where the army cadets and poppy se;;ers were out in force and we ended up with a poppy, a ceramic disc and no change left(we had Sproglet). Must admit it is a long time since I have seen quite this many poppy sellers around. Would have a word with your local RBL branch - maybe they ran out of poppies or volunteers.
