If you google 'cast and dressing protectors' you will find sleeves that will go over the plaster with sealing at the end, they should enable you to take a shower.
I have sympathy with you, when I slashed my thumb tendons I was in plaster for months, everytime I went for a checkup thinking it would be taken off they just put a new one on.
Then to make it worse the tendon broke so the thumb joint was fixed in a permanent bend which meant being back in plaster for even more months.

When my leg was in plaster, I used to tie a large plastic bag over it and hop (literally and with great difficulty!) into the bath, we didn't have a shower. It got a little bit damp, but those special coverings Bank suggested sound absolutely great.
It did take a while to pluck up the courage to have the bath in a polythene-encased leg, but when I finally did, I remember it was summer and the bathroom windows were open. As I immersed myself in the water, it was such bliss and I let out several very load groans of pleasure. The neighbours must have thought I was having an orgasm (actually, I think I may have had a mini-one, it was such a wonderful feeling to get into that hot water
Hope you're feeling okay Captain!

I bought one of those leg protectors to have a shower, we put it on and the rubber on the top is a very small hole, and I have big legs....being a hefty coo like...and the flippin' thing ripped...£16.50 right down the plughole as it were. If I was thinner it would have been brilliant, so it's strip washes for me....pass the flannel

Can't you get in the empty bath, position your hoof on the top edge and then put the water in up to a safe level. Have a soak then pull the plug and get out when the bath is empty again? I had two of those limbos when my legs were in bandages for three months. I have big legs but they were fine. Did you get the biggest size you could, capt?
