Hi are there any spring bulb gardeners out there? I need to make a quick colourful border. Or any other ideas. cold windy climate here soon.

You can also get dwarf tulips and irises. Chinodoxa (sp) are a nice small flower as well. Also, crocuses and grape hyacinths. Grape hyacinths also tend to spread like mad.

Bulbs: Siberian Iris, snowdrops, crocuses, daffs (short as Ed said, also not doubles, makes them top-heavy), grape hyacinths (muscari).
Plants - Aubretia.

Yes, they do. I left a 20ft border alone for a few years and dug up 40lbs plus of the things eventually.

We've got loads of primroses and they are lovely. Campanulas are nice as well.
