Any Wimbledon tennis fans amongst you? I hope Murray does us proud this year. Loved the tennis in the days of McEnroe and Jimmy Connors, they were always entertaining.

Oh no!!:_|
Thank goodness for all the other channels. Days gone by when something like that was on your TV choices went down by 50%.
Why can't they have separate channels for things like this, tennis, cricket, snooker, they're not just on every day, they're on all day too!!!

Yes, another tennis fan here! Will be cheering Murray on, but hope Nadal does well too. Not so keen on women's tennis with the awful noises! Good luck to Laura Robson.

I used to be glued to it years ago & went to Wimbledon several times to watch but don't follow it at all now. The characters I loved are no more.:-(

Will be watching the tennis here but must admit, I don't like Andy Murray. I think it's because he made some jibe about the English a few years back. The funding he got originally, came from ALL taxpayers in the UK and not just Scotland. I've never liked him since then.

I'm not keen on Murray either, he has no personality, but he's our only hope 🙂

I was abig fan as a younger girl and used to play tennis with my dad and sometimes my family members. Always used to watch Wimbledon when it was McEnroe, Borg. Nastase. Billie Jean King, Navratalova, Pam Shriver. I used to love Chris Evert.
Its not like it was then but i watch a little of it. I did watch the programme last night about Venus and Serena Williams which was interesting. They seem to dedicate their lives to the game. WOW.
Cliff Richard sang once if i remember?, and the various other funny things that used to happen. i have always wanted to go up there but as yet no. I must do it one year.:-D

Hmmmm this will the sole thing that I will miss not having a TV for - its just not the same listening on the radio :^O
Can we keep this thread going please - I would be interested to know when Andy Murray is playing as maybe I can booger off to a friends house and watch it!!

Hi Alison, he's supposed to be on court about 5p.m. today; then if he wins it will probably be Wednesday when he has his next match. Will try to keep you posted. If I don't I'm sure someone else will.

Ahh thank you Carol I appreciate that 🙂

Nadal's out in the first round in straight sets. He was playing a Belgian called Steve Darcis. They seem to think that Nadal has a knee injury.

Oh yes did just hear that on news and that Andy M won.

I think that it's mainly the women that do the grunting. Get Azaranka and Sharapova together and you need ear defenders.

I'm sure that's not true about Murray having no personality, I think he's one of those people who comes over as serious because he's concentrating hard. The jibe referred to was most likely a reaction to the fact he's described as British when he wins and Scottish when he loses.
I was disappointed to hear about Nadal. If he has got another injury, I don't see him having a long career, sadly.

Alison - Andy Murray is playing tomorrow afternoon; I think his is the 2nd match on Court One.

I'm glad that Laura Robson won today and in straight sets. She stuttered a bit in the second set but overall, she played well.

Thank you Carol for letting me know 🙂
I will try and watch the game somehow, its a good incentive for me to get all my post done early! x
