Any Wimbledon tennis fans amongst you? I hope Murray does us proud this year. Loved the tennis in the days of McEnroe and Jimmy Connors, they were always entertaining.

I like Andy Murray. He may not be the most good looking or charismatic player but he is solid and dedicated and came from nowhere and with literally nothing to the game when he was a small boy. He has wanted this his whole life and worked very hard for it.
I also like the fact that he has invested money back in his home town in Scotland and not forgotten his roots.
Last year the emotion and empathy he showed after his matches was wonderful. I never doubted him. He deserves our support. I really hope he does well this year. It would be fabulous if he won. I think the fact that he looks like a normal bloke and not some pretty boy like Nadal or Federa is great - we are too used to wanting sportspeople with beautiful looks and charming personalities as well as skill think David Beckham.
I'd rather have some dedicated guy or girl inspire youngsters from the ground up with their sporting skill alone rather than see them all the time barely dressed in the newspapers - sportsmen like Bradley Wiggins and Murray are great guys - national treasures :-).

Well done to Dustin Brown; I had never heard of him but he's certainly one to watch in the future. Waiting for Murray's match to come on; think its followed by Federer, so will have to tape my soaps tonight:-)

Has Tsonga withdrawn?
I have radio 5 on lol listening to the Murray match!

Well said, Alison! We're Murray fans here. OH says he's just like Kenny Dalgliesh, come across as dour but really anything but! He's on court to do a job, not lark about like a comedian.

Yes Alison, Tsonga had to withdraw. There's been a few top players out and they've been blaming the courts.

I see Federer's out now. I normally like Federer but in one set, he hit the ball so hard at his opponent, it knocked him over. I don't agree with that.

Omg Federa out????!!!!
This makes for a very interesting Wimbledon!!! Oooh tries not to get too excited!!

Yes Alison. Federer lost in four sets. I can't think of the young man that won but he was the better player on the night.

I was there yesterday 😄
Watched the Tsonga match (as far as it went) & then the Federer defeat
Managed to fit them in between Pimms on rooftop, lunch &, later, a cream tea
Rolling around like a barrel today after witnessing top sports :^O

Wow! Sounds lovely Wizi! Sure beats listening to it on Radio 5 where they cut to travel reports and the news through the matches and preferred to discuss the Williams sisters orange knickers rather than commentate properly on the match 😐 I will be boogering off to a mates house to watch future important games!

Wizi that sounds brilliant. I would have loved that.

Lets wish Laura Robson and Andy Murray all the best for their matches this afternoon. Think they are on centre court, so at least the rain wont be an issue 🙂

I see that they both won. Laura Robson should be playing again tomorrow. BTW, she is the model of my Goddaughter, Steph. The only difference is that Steph's hair is a deep auburn colour. They even have the same mannerisms.

You lucky thing Wizi 😮 Sounds wonderful!
The injuries and unexpected defeats are certainly making it an extra exciting Wimbles this year.
And I like Andy Murray. He was misquoted about a supposed hatred of England and has suffered for it. He won me over when he turned back to hug the little boy who had run up to his box last year.

Laura Robson has just won in three sets. My heart has been in my mouth especially in the final set.

Another fan here!
I do agree about Murray and his dour temprement etc but I think he's vastly improved since Ivan Lendl has been coaching him. He's much better behaved on court and is chanelling his energy into his game now and so looking much more mature and professional.
I knew he came from Dunblane but didn't realise he and his brother were yards away from it, in the school, on the day of that awful massacre of the children. I didn't see it but he was in a documentary that went out before the start of Wimbledon where he discussed Dunblane for the first time.
Today's play:
Murray, playing Mikhail Youzhny in the second match at approx 14.30 on Centre Court.
Laura Robson takes on Kaia Kanepi in the first match on Court One at 13:00.
Looking forward to a great week ahead. 😄
