I can still see, sort of.
Still settling down but no side effects - so far. Boy it itches though, not to mention the eye currently has toothache(but that will pass)..Very very relieved.
Next step is to get an eye test and see if I am legal to drive. It is going to be a long couple of weeks
Bye until it settles.

Hope that everything settles down for you soon GP. I know what you mean about not been able to drive. I'm going to be without the car for today as it's being serviced and I'm already like a bear with a sore head. When I had to have a bone graft on my right ankle, I had my leg in plaster for 15 weeks and then I couldn't drive for a couple of months after that. To say that I was at screaming point is putting it mildly.
Sending you some gentle hugs and hope that everything is sorted sooner rather than later.

I'm glad it all seems to have gone well GP. Take it easy today, you don't want to burst your stitches.
How long did it take?

So pleased for you GP - my hubby had his done and said, when he started driving again - 'oh I can see the colour of the motorway signs' eeeek.
Take it easy now, you can't afford to take any risks, sooon you'll be as right as rain, well done you.

Ah well I can see. That means naturally that my full set of floaters has come out of hiding + a couple of new ones but I have lost my nightime spider one, numerous pairs of reading glasses have been retrieved out of wherever OH has abandoned them(mine are always cleaner than hisso off to Poundland later for some new onespro-tem) and boy do my windows need a good clean!!!!!
Thank you for letting me moan, whinge and worry at you. OH has gone to work in disgust 'cos his staid, middle aged wife has morphed into tigger singing I can see, I can see, I can see. Poor lad. Son said "all right, Mother" and has retired to his books. Dum, de dum de dumbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning Guardpig, chuffed to bits for you, too early to look for a tigger, so hope this will do for your high spirits!!!
06-11-2014 8:57 AM
Guardpig, let your eye settle before you rush to get glasses, you might find you don't need them or they might alter, don't strain them.

That's true Ed - I had forgotten my husband was told that too when he had his done.
06-11-2014 9:17 AM
Both my parents had both their eyes done, mum doesn't need glasses except for small writing and dad just needs reading glasses, but they were both told to let them settle down before getting glasses.

Yes I know, optician has told me, consultant told me and nurse told me. just getting a set of clean unbent readers from poundland to tide me over(well they did say to go back to normal activities!!!). I am not taking risks I don't need to and optician wouldn't let me anyway. Gonna ring him later for an appointment mind!
I am just happy that the eye didn't collapse on me, certainly not risking anything!. Eye feels really weird and naked, longest contact lens has been out for nearly 40 years is 3 days in a row!!!!

Thought they probably had, or should have, but you can never tell these days. Good on ya love.

Take it easy? Well today was banking which is why I have 3 new, unscratched, varying strength readers(not to mention more clean windows LOL).
Tomorrow is despatching some of the stuff that I ordered before op and which arrived today, followed by collecting Sproglet from nursery on the other side of town and hurrying back to entertain a friend who is popping over to catch up. At least I'll be able to see which bus stop I am supposed to be standing at!! Was getting quite embarrassing - the old, old ladies asking me what numbers stopped where because they couldn't read the numbers on top of the bus shelter LOL.
Then we have Sproglet overnight and off to take her swimming Sat morning(lessons), probably followed by football in the park or shopping depending on whether it is raining or not.
Well they said resume normal activities!!!! They just didn't ask what. LOL
I am taking no chances though. I know the post op routine. Got to be good.

And do not, not, not accidentally wave onion fingers too close to the eye that you are not supposed to wash or wipe.!!!
Sproglet has told OH he is helping her cook dinner tomorrow - now that is going to be interesting. LOL

HUH ! Can see the numbers of the bus now but cannot see what clothes one is wearing
