Thank you to the weather forecaster who said this area was going to have the best day of the weekend, with sunshine today ! So what have we got? Yet more rain and a load of washing to get dry! It hasn't even got daylight yet. Now, on the other hand if all this rain we are getting was SNOW, just think how lovely and deep and picturesque it would be.........Instead of that we have muddy, soggy fields to walk and slide about in when dog-walking. What weather are the rest of you having?

We live in a bungalow as well. I don't blame you in not going out again though. It is absolutely disgustingly bad. At least things can't only get better.

It seems a lot quieter here at the moment. I meant to put on my last post on this thread that things can only get better. I think that my head was somewhat addled.

We ended up with 2 ridge tiles blown off. Now trying to get hold of a roofer, but it is easier said than done! A few properties on this street have got the same damage. At least it keep the roofers in work

Carol, hope everythig is ok with your roof, Hope I find everyone safe and well this morning. Wind dropped about 9 last night and we had snow, it didn't settle though thank goodness, it is cold here this morning and very wet. I had a lovely time at skittles, and stayed later than normal because I didn't have to get up for work this morning. When the sleet stops I am going to go out and pick a few things up in the garden and put them in a sheltered spot, to stop any thing else getting damaged, Will send out a search party (spaniel) for the duck when it gets lighter, if it is out there, Poppy will find it.

I hope duck is reunited with his little friends. Not a bad morning here so far. The winda has dropped but it's very grey & rather chilly.

Blue sky, brilliant sunshine but bitterly cold here....
All sorts of detritus in the garden,I had to fish a dustbin lid out of the pond this morning...

Not too bad here. Not exactly sunshine but not grey and dull either. Hardly any wind and no rain. I've only been out to the bin so far this morning but it didn't strike me as particularly cold.

Everything clean and tidy now, so I can have some me time.

Sam we have scoured the area Poppy and I and done a finger tip search and the duck is no where to be seen,
This his brother and sister still swimming in the pond. I will have another look when the rain has stopped, I don't think he has gone far, probably hiding somewhere out of the weather

Luckily we're okay, as we're on higher ground, but all around us is chaos (River Thames). Mr Pix and son are out fixing people's TV aerials and satellites which have blown down and are flapping around in the wind - worrying, as it is dangerous work. I wouldn't fancy clinging to a chimney pot in this weather!
Unfortunately there also seems to be some looting going on too - how horrible for scumbags to do such a thing, when people are already going through the trauma of losing most of their possessions, vacating their homes and dealing with the disgusting mess left by the flood water and sewage. It's at times like this I really hope there is such a thing as karma - fingers crossed those horrible people will get their come-uppance one day.
It's so sad to see people sploshing around in the water trying to rescue possessions and pets, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight any time soon.
