Weather

Thank you to the weather forecaster who said this area was going to have the best day of the weekend, with sunshine today ! So what have we got? Yet more rain and a load of washing to get dry! It hasn't even got daylight yet. Now, on the other hand if all this rain we are getting was SNOW, just think how lovely and deep and picturesque it would be.........Instead of that we have muddy, soggy fields to walk and slide about in when dog-walking. What weather are the rest of you having?

Re: Weather

I know they flooded last year because we were due to go there, it is such a shame.  My brother lives a couple of miles away and keeps us up to date.  It is just incredible how deep the water is.   We have been so lucky here.

Re: Weather

We also are very lucky, although the fields are standing in water thus far we have escaped flooding.
I feel for the poor beggers who are in real trouble & not for the first time this year.
Still very windy here but not in a damaging way.

Re: Weather

We have gusty winds here at the moment but at least the rain has stopped.  It's mighty cold as well.  It's not as bad is was on Wednesday but it's still not nice.  I think that one of my neighbours had some damage to his roof but it was at the back of his bungalow.  It just seems that there's no end to it at the moment.  I just wonder how much longer we will have this horrific weather for.  As I've said before, I am lucky where I live that it's nowhere near as bad here as it is in the south of the country.

I just hope that everyone manages to stay safe.

Re: Weather

OMG that picture,,those houses look really close to that wave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Hail this afternoon and the wind was howling like a beast i have never heard of last night. I actually thought the windows were going to break!!!!. Very scary. Then Bubbles the cat went onto the window ledge and starts pawing and tapping on the window as if shes giving the wind a wave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. She does that,,,i think she gets excited by it,,,same when leaves fly past. LOL

Re: Weather

Weather here is lovely in contrast to yesterday, bright sunshine, calm & dry, I might even say warm, I hope those that are suffering in the dreadful floods , snow& all that is rotten with this winter get chance to share it.

Re: Weather

I've just been away for a night visiting an elderly relative in Milford-on-Sea, near Bournemouth.

Luckily for her she's in a nursing home and hasn't seen the worst of the weather, however, there

is a lot of flooded fields and partially flooded roads there.

After visiting her I drove down the the seafront as I love the sea and couldn't wait to have a look.

Well it was not quite high tide but the waves were huge, the spray going right across the car park

and the wind, well I've not seen it so windy for a long time!  I couldn't get out of the car as the wind

was blowing against the door and I couldn't open it - I had to turn the car round to get out!  I soon

got back in!

Awoke yesterday in Bournemouth to a beautiful sunny day.  I walked right along the seafront

from Bournemouth to just past Boscombe, the wind was behind me, it was a really lovely walk.

The people were out in tractors trying to put the beach back where it belonged and pick up

the beach huts that had fallen over.  I couldn't walk all along to Southbourne due to fallen debris

so I turned back.  Well, I couldn't walk into the wind as sting-your-face sand was blowing into my

hood and down my jumper!  I ended up catching a bus back!

Re: Weather

I don't envy you the wind but I do envy your walk along the beach, the nearest one to us is Skegness, bracing at the best of times, but I keep promising my dogs a trip there! One day perhaps.

Re: Weather

What diverse weather we have here! The Army are trying to reinstate parts of the Chesil Beach where the pebbles have just been washed away down to clay underneath. Today is beautiful but the rain is due back tomorrow hopefully with lighter winds.

Re: Weather

Lovely weather here too even though it is on the cool side.  I love it when the weather's like this at this time of the year.  It's not going to last though unfortunately.

Re: Weather

Quite warm here today. Just back from a lovely walk along the beach with Damson. Lots of little sailing boats bobbing about in the sunshine.

Re: Weather

We got some washing done this morning and I even managed to get some thick towels dried.  I took mum into town just after lunch.  It was on the cool side but the sunshine was lovely.
