Hi there,
It's been a while since I have posted, I had a full abdominal hysterectomy a few years ago, I have feel a lot better after having it done.
It took a while longer for my recovery and I had some mobility issues, I still get a bit broody and sometimes have a wobbly moment.
I would recommend having a good support system with friends and family and also if your Doctor offers you support after take him/her up on that.
I found a wonderful forum called Hystersisters there are some amazing stories and some really amazing advice.
HRT info as well and of course a lot of post surgical advice and support from people who have gone through it for what ever reason. Mood swings - oh yes some still get that PMT thing only its post-menopause - Depending on age of when you have the surgery done if you are not in pre-memopause or already in the menopause it can have a huge effect on your hormones or as I like to call them "HORRORMOANS" lol talk to your doctor or nurse about it.HRT can help with that as well as some natural remedies 😉
They do have UK threads - just type into your search engine - Hystersisters UK
Everyone is different but it helped to read through the forum and to talk to others who have gone through the same thing.
As for Intimate things they talk about that too, and how some over come some problems after.
You can find out comfy ways to sleep or how to get comfy after and other options that help out for supporting problem areas after.
Your Doctor and support staff will give you lots of info (or should) on after care and exercises to do. Pay close attention to the Pelvic Floor exercises.
Loads of people to talk to about fears before and after.
Some women suffer a bit of depression (no matter the age) after even though having the surgery was the best thing for their health. So it is good to have the forum and a GREAT support system in family and friends.
I wish you luck and being a member of FH&G is a big step to having a great support system.
Sorry I probably jumped around a bit
*waves to all*

I am frantically trying to work out why you didn't knit before you had your giblets removed CK;\
I'd been told I'd need to rest a lot afterwards CB & thought I'd be bored, I didn't & wasn't but started knitting again anyway 😐
I did knit when my boys were little but had given it up when they didn't want Fireman sam & Thunderbird jumpers anymore 😐
Am I the only one who had it done that way ?:|
