Beautiful weather again. Bought a pink paddling pool yesterday for Sproglet, last years having a punrure! She went to the zoo Saturday and saw a COW - hmm, she must have been impressed. That was 2 round trip of hour and a half for me as her friends hubby sashed their car the other week! We were conned into having her Sat night and she went home with green gunge dripping on Sunday, so I had to have her yesterday whilst daughter went on a 1st aid course. Exhausted myself and now am aching, shivering and coughing and very much behind with the world.
Ah well she did have fun yesterday. Picked her up in town so we went to the big new park before it got crowded - whilst it is a wonderful play park it does have a major deign fault. Small kids can get up the ladders relatively easily but they cannot manage to get down again(big drops, wide rung gap) so when she couldn't get down off the pirate ship she kept going up and up. Since there is no access wide enough for aching fat grandma a couple of older kids tenderly helped her down We won't even go the buried "fossils" in the large sand pit area. She ran across, tripped and face planted. Wasn't just her either. Think the play area was designed by a well taught award winning designer without kids! LOL. Mind you the old stuff was well past it's sell by date(some of t was stuff I'd played on!!!) and the new one is big enough and interesting enough to stay all day(but what have they done with the ice cream van????). Not bad at all considering it's nicely situated by the bus stops and City Centre shops. Every town should have one. Especially as it is completely free.
