Only just managed to get in here - seems to have been problems.
Well my felting half worked
I didn’t want to spend too much on yarn for my first project, so asked in my local yarn store and was recommended 2 types which were reduced in price.
The first was Sirdar 100% Eco Wool DK. Great, but only in dark colours, so I bought some of that and another yarn as a contrast. This was Sonnet Traditional Wool DK 100% Wool.
I knitted my bag and used different width stripes to vary the colour between the 2 yarns. When it was finished I worked in all the ends and put it in a pillowcase. I washed it with jeans and towels at 60 degrees.
The result was that the dark colour has begun to felt, but the light colour has not felted at all. It looked very odd. So I have done it twice more with dryer balls in the pillowcase to give more aggitation.
Looks better, but the light colour still hasn't felted, so I think I'll be speaking to the shop where I bought it.
Just had my daughter on the phone as the jumper and hat has arrived and she loves it 😄
Have an order for another one!
