CK (or anyone) can I ask a stupid knitting question?

Trying another cable pattern and it says that on all even rows to
K all Ksts and P all Psts.

Sounds dead simple, but when the stitches are twisted as in cable, I'm having trouble distinguishing.
I know P stitches have a loop at the bottom, but do you have any other advice please?

I'm not sure I understand it either Learning ?:|
I've only ever done the one you did on your Mug Cosy.

Thanks Gems - thats the one I did on the Mug Hug.
This one is more complicated and called Ensign's Braid.

Maybe I have been a bit ambitious 😉

I just googled and got that, i'm still not sure, unless you have a 2nd row repeat over the 24 rows.

Sorry if I've mislead you.
Just need help distinguishing between K and P stitches.
Can do it on normal knitting, but when stitches are knitted out of order to form cable, it isn't so clear.

the purled st will have the hoop at the bottom the knitted stitch the smooth will face you, hope that is what your after 😄

I'll have to ask her when I see her, I'm sure she said they made it, but perhaps I got it wrong.  I can see my old house on that map.  It's not there any more.  It's funny because if you go on google maps and view from overhead, you see the old house but if you go on google street view it shows the new house.:^O

Morning all. We have had rain here & it's still a bit grey. Quite mild & still though. A walk to the beach I think.:-)

Looks ok outside at the moment. MrHippy is out there raking up leaves.

I am still drinking my coffee, directing boys to the bathroom (soap dodging little darlings) and shopping online for loads of forthcoming birthdays!!

No ill effects from last nights drinkies 🙂 & I managed to stay awake till 10 and then fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow!!

Christmas is going back in its box today. Our tree lights went funny last night so I think they may just go straight in the bin 😞

I collected all the Christmas cards up yesterday and put them in the children's craft drawer.  I'll put the tree away when I muster the energy and enthusiasm.:|
