I love the lavender heart, thats what im looking to do was it hard to do??

I agree with others maybe the felt hearts needed to be a bit thicker, then they would hold shape better but if you like them then thats ok 🙂

Hi, jacjac, no the lavender heart was easy-peasy. Just drew a heart shape on reverse of fabric and cut out two. Sewed round the edge, inserting ribbon at the top, and leaving a gap for stuffing and lavender. turned right side out, stuffed - then sewed up gap. I wonder if I should do more on them, like sew on a pretty button, or a smaller heart shape - but I'm trying to suss out things that are really quick to make!

Perhaps with the felt hearts, I'll try a thicker one. Twice as much felt = more cost 😞 🙂

have you tried things likelittle peg bags and fabric bags to hold carrier bags etc, try making some cushion covers aswell 🙂

I think double the flet put some beads or something on front you could sell for more then you brought the materials with if you know what i mean!

Ooohhh are these the kind of lavender hearts that can be microwaved and used as heat pads? Or they wheat and lavender? I have always fancied making one but not got round to it.

Perhaps you could have double thickness/stuffed hearts garlands, but use the same amount of felt by having less hearts joined together by a few inches of ribbon. I used to buy loads of ribbon on ebay from the far east. Very cheap and fab colours.

I have a huge box of ribbons and i keep buying more i love ribbon and lace 🙂

I do all my cupcakes double even if they aren't stuffed. Single felt is too light to hang properly.

There are a lot of ribbons for sale in Malaysia. That rings a bell. Use to get whole bobbins like they sell in the haberdashers.

Sindy - yes, thinking about getting a stall at our local Summer Fair. They have quite a few gift / craft stalls.

Think I will make the hearts thicker - I could do a small heart on the back of each big one, in a different shade? Thought about doing simple boat shapes too, for boys' rooms, and maybe leaves in green / brown.....?

I was saying how I have been looking at the heart garlands on ebay - some are very rustic with stringy bits and some are very soft for the ends of cots. I like the idea of boats and in my missing post I suggested ducks, bunnies, cat heads and christmas trees :-D
