I am not selling them for charity. I am selling them to make a profit. I am not using anything that is of any intrinsic value. I do know an antique when I see one. I am not turning something nice into tat. I am an artist not a bodge up merchant. Sorry but this has made me a bit cross.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

What an awful state of affairs Mags.  At least now she's in hospital they can do lots of tests and hopefully get to the bottom of it, plus you know she's better off there than being on her own.  I hope they soon find out what's wrong and get it fixed quickly. :-x

I think you have taken offence where none was intended or implied. The only reason I mentioned Charity selling was that another poster mentioned it (if you read back ) I thought and posted  what you had done was lovely.. I also said I would look at new candlesticks with a different view...Unfortunately the written word has no nuance or body language with it ,  I did NOT at any time seek to offend anyone.

What a day.

Mother pressed her Community Alarm this morning after waking with numb arm and lips. I got the phone call and dashed, called paramedics and took her to hospital in an ambulance.

She had an x ray and has a cracked rib after the fall on Saturday. Saw Doctor from last week who admitted her and did a CT scan, Initial results are no sign of a bleed or stroke, but she is still hallucinating and has numbness.

More tests tomorrow and I'll be back there as Mum is scared and can't hear. All they can do is rule things out.

14 hour day today with virtually no food or drinks, so off to bed now.

Will update tomorrow if I can.

I feel I must apologise that your serious post has been mixed up between others which are of much less importance. I hope by tomorrow your Mother is beginning to improve and you both feel much better. ((HUG))

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Flipping 'eck! Mothers eh! Just leaving for work as I've found the only way I can fit our food shopping in with work & hospital visits is to leave early & get it before work, so no gym or me for a while & I'm living on crap take-aways as I never bothered doing a big food shop before we went away. No time & no inclination at the moment. Upside is that we've hardly spent any money this month, still spending the left over holiday money we bought back with us.

phizz, I remember doing Sunny Smiles for Barnardos when I was at school. Little did I know that my future hubby was one of those Barnardos kids.

learning, hope mum starts to improve xxx

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Thanks again for all the good wishes.

Woken by another call from the hospital.
Mum is upset and agitated and spent most of the night in the waiting area saying she wanted to go home.
She is accusing the staff of all sorts of thing.
They put her on the phone and she sobbed and begged me to go and bring her home.
My sister is coming here and we are going into the hospital. Think they will need my permission to sedate her.

It is so out of character - we must find the reason, and to do that she needs to stay in hospital, but I feel so bad.
Could be another long day.

I didn't read it all back last night as I had come in from a long exhausting day out. So sad to hear of all the mums ailing and I hope things improve for them all soon. :-x

Carol stay strong, I will message you later.:-)

Yes Phizz the written word can indeed be taken the wrong way. That is why the use of smilies is so useful.;-)

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Hubby had blocked tear ducts & they cleared them under a local with a very fine syringe. I hope they feel better soon.

Hugs to all who need them. I'm glad you will have your sister with you Learning, it's true about a problem shared.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I can't have my brother here as he is severely disabled & housebound (cerebral palsy & stroke). He did ask if I wanted help, bless him, but a) he can't get here, b) he couldn't do anything if he was here & c) I can't be coping with him & mum. One is enough at the moment.
