No, no excuses! I'm sitting here feeling glum. Three weeks now I've been on a diet. Practically blinking starved myself on 1200 calories a day including the weekend wine. What have I lost? 6lb would be reasonable, half a stone? a measly 2lb??? NO, I have stayed EXACTLY the same weight. X-(

Yes , I understand that. I  also as stated think they look nice but if you are raising money for charity there is no point in  doing all that work and selling something for a fiver which would sell for £10 if sold as is  !!

 I have lost count of the wonderful pieces of glassware I have seen which have been "improved" by folks with glass paints And now pretty valueless .

On Antiques Roadshow there are numerous cases of valuable items of silver devalued by the Victorians penchant for "make -overs"
