Hiya Stan, yes it was a great day, got some lovely stuff. Ribbons and buttons mainly for me and some yarn. My friend used to own a craft shop and has so much 'stuff' you wouldn't believe and still managed to buy more, including a trio of gorgeous little teddies, one black, one brown and one beige (loves her teddies). Her OH just goes 'yes dear' and smiles 🙂
I wondered if Maggie's group would have been involved in a quilting display (by UK quilters groups) with Jane Austen as the theme, it was incredibly beautiful. Then went for lovely Chinese meal and they dropped us home.
You going to the rugby??? Oh I so hope you win. My son has dual nationality (half NZ) and is a massive rugby fan - he's put a bet on for Wales to win 😮 A Grand Slam, eh!! You hear about Mervyn Davies?

16-03-2012 9:18 PM
I met my lovely daughter for lunch & we looked around the charity shops.:-) We meet 'halfway' in Yeovil, Somerset. I also had to take some quilt entries to a friend for her to deliver to Exeter for the quilt show later in the month.:-D
16-03-2012 9:26 PM
Sounds lovely Maggie I love having a nose round the charity shops, think one of the best bargains I ever had was some lovely beatrix potter material to make curtains for Alesha's room when she was small for the bargain price of £1 :-x

You're going to the rugby for real Stan - it will be an incredible day, would you like to be my son's new best friend?? We're gonna get the wooden spoon - again - aren't we? They play like girls.
The whole day was wonderful Maggie - so inspirational - always a bit of a blur by the end. I especially loved all the sewing - catwalk, great designs by a lot of young designers, very Mary Q some of it. There was a Beatles quilt/ all kind of 'raggedy' unfinished edges on the pieces, bit 3D, I would have died for (so they copy the faces onto fabric - how do you do that?). The JA quilting was unbelievable - real works of art - and some of the scrap quilts were genius, I haven't got the patience to do those. Downton costumes a treat - spent time looking at machines like CGs - want one. I think that's the 3rd year we have been - but my friend goes all over to them. Where was your day out?
Oooh huggles - if I win the lottery I'd buy an Aston Martin Volante - like Charlie. I'm not fond of 'low' cars.
We went to see Mrs Browns Boys last night - please, please get a ticket for the future and go - 2 halves of a show - 90 mins each - he is a brilliantly funny man. Was better than the telly.

Suppose that is one thing that I am really lucky with all 6 of our children live within a 15 min drive so see them all the time.
