Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Yes CK I could forward it to myself if I had ever managed to set up sending email from my phone! It only receives! 😐 I can print it off at work. Won't be tackling it yet, I have too many on the go at the moment!

Oh yes one day - 2 appointments - 25 miles apart!! Least one of them involved having my leg massaged 😉

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I don't have to do any baking as I got carried away making the cup cakes for the christening cupcake tower & we have loads of plain sponge cakes & only 2 of us to eat them, so tonight we're pouring over some golden syrup (ala syrup sponge) with custard & tomorrow we're crumbling some in a bowl, setting in jelly, top with custard & dream topping (yum) & calling them trifle. By then anymore leftovers should just be fit to use as doorstops!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

You know sponge freezes very well don't you gina?  When my children were small I used to cook a large tray of sponge, cut it into squares and freeze it.  It was very easy when pushed for time to grab 4 squares, pop on some jam/syrup/fruit and tinned custard, zap it for a minute and voila, hot puddings all round in five minutes.:-D

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Funny you should say that CG, the first thing I said was I'll have to freeze some (never frozen sponge before) & then realised that the freezer was jampacked. I'll remember that for next time though.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I'm on the fourth pair now (just!)  I made one of the largest size for my daughter, it was a disaster.  Took two full balls of wool, took ages to knit and sew up, and it was horrendous.:_|

I thought at the time it would have been ideal for hippy to wear over her moon boot!:^O

I'm going to use the wool I've got over to make mittens and perhaps a beany hat or two.  If I ever get round to it.:|

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I didn't make the second one, I dumped the first one.:^O

I don't suppose any of them will wear them actually, they all run around in their socks.:^O
