Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

If you honestly think I, and probably Numpty too, have the self control to put maltesers into a glass of baily's before they are consumed, I think you have the wrong idea about us.  I'll have you know that they are gone practically before I have opened the packet! :^O

Hmmm, maybe that's why I don't buy them too often.

I'm sad here with PJ )))Growing pains((((.  She gets them just like I used to - cripplingly :-(.  However, I asked her knee and it says the pain has gone so as soon as Mickey Mouse has finished doin' his stuff on the box, I'll be packing her back off to bed :-x

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Morning ladies.:-D  Is everyone still in bed?  Very quiet in here, I expect with all the children on half term you're either having a lie in or up to your necks in children's activities.:-D

Here's a joke , ok, so you've heard it before, I know I had when I just received it in an email, but it might brighten the place up on a Monday morning.:|

The first man married a woman from  Cyprus   He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning.  It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a woman from Italy .  He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from  ENGLAND.  He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal.  He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day some of the swelling had gone  down and he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees.

Have a nice day!;-)

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

i havent tasted these yet, so if you want to wait and see how they turn out

but this is the recipe i have used

Recipe for Christmas Flapjacks

Makes 8 - 12 pieces
Make sure you cook this a little in advance of when you need it to allow this to cool completely before you cut into it or it will fall apart!

100g Butter
75g Dark Brown Sugar
75g Golden Syrup
150g Mincemeat
3 tbsp rum (or brandy)
200g Rolled Oats

Melt the sugar, syrup and butter together, either on the hob or in the microwave.

Mix the oats, rum and mincemeat in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar/butter mixture and stir thoroughly until evenly combined.

Line a small baking tin (about 20cm by 15cm) with baking parchment and pour the flapjack mixture in. If you don’t have a small baking tin I used a shallow ceramic dish in the past.

Bake for 25-30 minutes at 170 C, 325 F, Gas mark 3 until golden on top.

Allow the flapjack to cool completely before you cut it into squares, Refrigerating it for an hour or so helps the flapjack to keep together as you cut it.

9/10 i change something after a first attempt

so this is just a trial run

flapjacks go down well in this house as everyone takes a packed lunch

domestic goddess?

ummmmm well, Martha Stewart i'm definately not
