Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I wish people could see pain sometimes, you know what I mean like an aura or something .

Don't want to say anything wrong or upset anyone but if you can see that someone is physically or mentally handicapped you help out or have sympathy when some one looks physically fit or young and able they tend to be called whingers,

If for one day I could swap with Miss S, merlin ,RDW or plenty of others I would do in a heartbeat just for them to have 1 day of normality .................................................

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

you are one fabulous person Stan, I knew it the first time I saw you...xxxxx

I hope everyone who is feeling rotten soon feels better, even if it's only a wee bit better. Plenty of hugs here if you want them. Rainy, you can come to mind for lunch and wear your slippers if you like!!!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I tend to have a very high pain threshold and people tend to think that there's nothing wrong.  I can seriously sympathise with people when they are suffering.  I hope that anyone and everyone who is suffering constant pain gets some relief sooner rather than later.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Well said Stan. I tend to suffer in silence as when you say bad back a lot of people think oh yeah malingerer.

Mind I have had the pain for 30 years now so just put up with it.
We used to have a boss who thought anyone with a bad back or depression was a skivver until he slipped a disc.....

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Morning all.  People who are lucky enough to be fit and healthy don't realise what it is like to have something and having to suffer it day in day out.

Cloudy and cold here today.  Off out for lunch today with a couple of friends.  Mum thinks that I'll have time to go half way round town for her this morning, have a swim, get back and ready for out again.  She didn't like when I told her that I wouldn't have time.  Honestly, talk about sulking like a child - it isn't it.  She's got to realise that I am not her servant.  I don't mind helping but I don't like been used.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Been there, done that and got the t shirt Chris.

I have both Mum 96 and MIL 80 who have both returned to a second childhood. We have sulks and temper tantrums on a regular basis.

Very wearying.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

You're right Mags.  It is very wearying.  She's not too bad at the moment apart from being very talkative for a change!!

I enjoyed meeting my friends at lunchtime.  Whilst I was out, I went into the wool shop and bought some pink wool to make another carding for the baby.  The wool shop had a sale on of discontinued knitted patterns.  I bought four patterns for cardigans for little people so they will do for both Grace and the baby.  They only cost £2 for all four which was cheap.  I have started knitting with wool but I am using the pattern that we bought whilst we were out last week.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I have all but given up on here - ebay is so slow and putting pictures on is such a faff.

I have finished knitting my 32 hats for Biker's Oldies Club and I'm now doing shawlettes and cowls with the yarn I have left.

I have made several of those bags to use as Knitting Project bags Dairy. Great for when I'm knitting socks and smaller stuff.

Not sure how many people use straight long knitting needles now - I use all interchangeables and DPNs.

I'm sure there is a market for cases for those.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Dairy last Christmas I looked everywhere for a Knitting bag and Needles case, something a bit different, it was as a Christmas present for my elderly aunt.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Dairy I picked up a great interchangeable case at a Knitting Fair on Saturday.

Was reduced as it's a second and slightly wonky. Shout if you wants pics and measurements as they have to be quite precise to hold the tips firmly.

I also have another case of a different design bought from a company that makes needles and it is fab/
