I've been for a day at the races and the weather was perfect all day thank goodness, a few flutters and a couple of wins which all went on Champers for the girls and I and a nice bite to eat in a little french resteraunt on the rows in Chester on the way home

Loving your work Twishy - I too settled on curtain wire and hooks for a door I did, you have to play about to get the fabric to hang 'just right' don't you? Your kitchen will look all fab and fresh, new curtains and the cupboards dressed too. Still want me pic
On a pair of bedroom wardrobe doors, I just used voile and my staple gun and folded the fabric as I went along - lazy way. Was supposed to be a temporary fix - 7 years ago

Lucky you Stan. Well done.
I managed to get some more gardening done this afternoon only to be nabbed by our local councillor. Must admit that he's a nice young man and quite chatty. Admits that, talking wise, he's a match for my mother. That's why he's a councillor isn't it?

Ooooh Dairy, what a lovely job you've done Upholstery, I know from experience, is not easy, clever you. Last job I did was the bedroom chairs, small kinda Victorian repro (I can't put photos up because they're 'too big'), and it took me a week.
Like you said, the're not perfect, but look ok. x.

Oh Dairy what a lovely chair, I wish I could sew, I wish I could sew, I wish I could sew.

Ed, it's easy, it's easy, it's easy Buy yourself a basic model sewing machine and just practise straight lines until you get a 'feel' for it.
If you get stuck, there are plenty of experienced sewers on here who will help you out, just think you could make your own curtains, cushions, tablecloths......... and so on.
I'd be lost without my sewing machines, mind you I've been sewing since I was a wee girl. My Mum was a beautiful seamstress, she had a Singer treadle machine. Showing my age now
