Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

The placemat applique is only done with a zig zag stitch.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Fantastic day here today. Wall to wall sunshine & hardly a breath of wind. I might clean out the greenhouse later!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

If I had placemats as beautiful as that I'd want to hang it on the wall or display it somewhere .....  I'd certainly be wary of using it for its real purpose incase it got spilt onSmiley Indifferent

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

It's been a bit on the cool side here today and it's been breezy.  I got my bedding changed this morning and the sheets are now dried and put away.  I also changed my duvet cover and curtains.  I have also mown the lawn and I'm shattered.  Methinks that it will be an early night tonight.

Off to get on with some knitting now.  At least I have until Christmas to finish the little cardigan I'm knitting.

I've not done much this morning as I'm watching the marathon...lazy coo...but I like to watch it, maybe I'll see our lad from work who's giving it a go.

I cleared the greenhouse yesterday & planted shallots & beetroot seeds this morning. Must get some carrot & radish seeds.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Sorry I've been AWOL - I have FIL in hospital, and as OH is away and his daughter lives on the Isle of Man, there is only me to visit and make sure he is being looked after.

Have also been busy making some things for charity as Tuesday 15th is the 10th anniversary of my Brain Tumour treatment which saved my life. Wanted to celebrate by doing a good turn to someone else.

Not had a minute to myself for ages, but hope everyone on here is OK.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

My mum's planted a load of different types of tomatoes and we have courgettes and cucumbers on the go as well.  We've also planted seeds for a load of bedding plants on the go as well.  I mowed the lawn yesterday and I'll feed it tomorrow as it's looking rather sorry for itself.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Congratulations on your sucsessful treatment Mags, nice of you to do a good turn in return.

It's been lovely here today, it was a little chilly this morning but really warm this afternoon.

I've just got in from seeing granddaughter in her drama class production of The Little Mermaid.  It was on at a proper theatre and I only went because you can't say you don't want to when the granddchild  invites you.  It was wonderful, I'm so glad i went!  Some of those children were so good.  One had no end of lines all the way through and she had an accent to do too, she was remarkable and only five years old!!

The lead, Ariel, was played by a 13 year old and boy could she sing, the sea witch could too.  It was so colourful and word and action perfect!   Nothing at all like the school Christmas play!!!  Woman LOL

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I just can't get over how good some of them were!!  Every single one was good in what they did but for some, such as granddaughter, it was just group singing with actions and dancing, but those lead parts, I can't get over how talented they were!!

Molly was very good.  No little parcels on the floor and she seems to wee on newspaper without hardly being told, in 90% of cases.

I know you'll all be sick of the pictures,  but is there ANYTHING cuter than this???

CG, I'll never get fed up with cute.  I just love cute.

We've had quite a bit of sun today but it's been blowing a gale today and it's just got stronger.  It's not so very warm either.

I've just finished knitting Grace's cardigan but the sewing-up department doesn't feel quite like working at the moment but she has promised me that she will sew the cardigan up tomorrow.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Lottie still doesn't know what to make of her I don't think, capt!  If Molly goes towards Lottie, she backs away!  Lottie hasn't growled or snapped at her at all. I think Lottie'll be more comfortable with her when she's more her size. Woman LOL
