Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Just got back from the hospital.  If they operated on the skin cancer, it would leave a lovely red blob where it was due to me being fair skinned.  They given me some cream to put on the cancerous part and I have to use it for five days a week for five weeks.  I have to go back to see the consultant in three months and they will send me a prescription.  I can still go swimming as well.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Imogen is a beautiful baby.  At least our little lady is old enough to go to the toilet now so smelly nappies are a thing of the past for the time being at least.

Love the cardi Stroppy.  I think that your grandaughter will look lovely in it.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Good Evening.

Super news books, hope that the cream is effective and sorts the problem out.

Von - wishing you a speedy recovery.

Op went very well, after a lot of discussion they opted for general anaesthetic, but I wasn't sick afterwards.

I was offered a choice of rooms with a variety of bathroom layouts, so that I could say which layout was best for me.

Food is definitely better - tomato soup with a warm fresh crusty roll and butter, poached salmon with hollandaise sauce, new potato, carrots and green beans, with lemon mousse for desert. It was lovely.

I was told that I could go home tonight if I really want to, but they would prefer me to stay overnight just to be sure that all the anaesthetic is out of my system. I agreed to stay overnight and will go home in the morning.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Glad that you've finally had your op Stroppy.  That's a beautiful photo of your grandaugther and I love the cardigan her mum knit for her.  There are some lovely little people on this board I must admit.

Steph took Grace to the doctors yesterday as she had a dark brown spot on her nose.  The doctor said that it was a freckle that was just a bit darker than the rest of her freckles and it should fade over winter.  Talking of winter.  When I went for my swim this morning, one of the staff was saying that she'd heard that we may have snow at the end of the month.  I seriously hope not.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

snow?????suprised 3 smiley.gif good grief! that's a bit sudden isn't it? ooooh I'm not ready for that.

Ah, good Stroppy, best to stay in overnight eh? doesn't sound like it might be a hardship...get that supper, sounds lovely. Hope it all goes OK this time.

I shall be sewing shortly. I think peeps get a bit sidetracked when it's summer as the garden needs attending to.

I've been sorting out my Christmas presents....sorry I said that hahahahaha....but I need to be really really organised this year don't I?

Stan....enjoy the darts and I hope you win.

Chris...good news if they can cure it all with cream...how smart is that?

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

CB, Christmas is a dirty word at the moment.  Must admit though to buying a handful of presents.  Have no idea what to buy for my dad though.  What do you buy an 84 year old?  I've no idea.

It is a good idea if they can treat my skin cancer with cream I agree.  When I spoke to Steph on the phone on Wednesday evening, I pointed out to her that I don't sunbathe or use sunbeds.  She gave a nervous laugh and said she used sunbeds.  I knew this anyway but I hope that it has given her a warning.  I think that is why she took Grace to the doctors yesterday as she was worried over the dark freckle on her nose.  I hope that Steph or anyone else that uses sunbeds takes heed.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Thought it about time I updated you with a picture of Charlotte - 3 months old now. She is such a poppet, a really happy baby.
We don't see her as much as I would like but will.see her tomorrow at a family picnic! Who goes on picnics in October? Let's pray for good weather! It's also a 150 mile round trip and as I'm the only driver I know I'll be shattered tomorrow night but it will be worth it to see her and her brother again,

I read this thread most days so hope all you poorly ones get better soon. Love looking at all the other baby photos and the things you make. Haven't sewn or knitted anything just lately. Arthritis in my hands is playing up.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Mumsie's little on isn't upside down here either CB.  Perhaps you should try standing on your head so that you can see the picture properly.

Been busy knitting this afternoon.  I should have rung my dad at 1pm to tell him how I'd got on at the hospital yesterday.  He did ring me at 3pm though and he was out at 1pm when I should have rung him.  Never mind.

Mum's not so good at the minute as she is full of a cold.  When she get's a cold, it always goes on to her chest and she ends up with bronchitis.  She's not been doing to bad lately either with the heart condition.  She still has good days and bad days though.
