Captain - I am hoping that I won't be there long enough for the food to matter!
I am packing a cool bag with lemonade and chocolate buttons (just in case), and will put a sarnie, a yoghurt and a couple of satsumas in there too.

I can vouch for the food stroppy! When they said I could go home on the monday morning I said, 'I'll just stay until after lunch if you don't mind'
I've got my chicken on the window handle capt, and I have a chicken from Maggie on the curtain. I also have a silver filigree heart and a silver angel but I'm ashamed to admit I can't remember who sent the cards they were on. I think one was rainy, but sorry, I can't remember, but the fact that they were sent by friends means a lot, and that's why they're still on the window sill.

Let's hope that things finally happen for you tomorrow Stroppy. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Love the pic of Danielle Stan. She's beautiful. When Grace's mum and dad were on their honeymoon, they rang home and told Grace that they had bought her a doll amongst other things. Grace was telling everyone that they were bringing her a baby home!! Honestly kids. What are they like?
Just finished my hat order from the other day so I'm pleased over that.

The thing is Stan, Grace calls all her doll her babies. As she's only two, I am glad that she hasn't got any real babies.

it is
dont think anyone sews much anymore
i've been making a valance for my bed
you know one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" things
cant get one to fit my bed, how hard can it be?
theeeeeeeen i decided to embroider pip berries on it
just a little, at the sides
now the bottom looks plain
so i added a pleat
and did a heart shape of pip berries on it
its become an epic task
its finished
but i cant get the stupid thing on the bed by myself
so i'm in the huff with it

Hope this qualifies as "sewing", I did sew it up once I had knit it - for grand-daughter's first birthday.

i think this thread quickly took on a crafting theme rather than specifically sewing
so performing witchcraft with knitting sticks certainly qualifies
can you tell i have tried, and failed gloriously to learn to knit??
my knitting sticks prop up my chili plants
lovey jacket stroppy

A good idea for the use of redundent knitting sticks merlin , i have also tried & failed to learn to knit , it confudles me completly ...i'd rather upholster a sofa
Im not feeling good today i think i have got sons cold which has of course gone straight to my lungs

I have been getting ready for a girly sewing weekend here at my house. Three friends are coming to stay & we will sew, eat chocolate & drink wine. This morning I have made a big quiche & a Steak & Kidney pie. The sun is shining too & it's lovely & warm.
Take it easy today Von & let hubby wait on you.

wonders what the ratio of sewing to drinking wine is?
sounds like a lovely weekend ahead Maggie
i hope to have a sewing weekend too
i promised myself i would make 3 quilts for christmas
started one, the cat messed up my laid out pieces and it was abandoned
and that was only #1
so i have got it out
once i get it pieced together again i shall be fine
just dreading the thought of working it all out again

Merlin....get a length of baton (or long garden cane) hang a sheet over it, flanellette is best & hang it up using a skirt hanger. Then pin your pieces to this as a design wall. I defy any cat to make a mess of that. If you use a flannelette sheet the pieces stick to it temporarily & you can pin whan you are happy with it. You can just take the peices off to sew them & put the strips back on the sheet as you work.

that is SO sensible, and should have been SO obvious, its not even funny
Thank you Maggie
i'm obviously thick!
she wont go near anything like that
she just thought she was "helping"

Wow never thought of that Maggie (is also stoopid !)
My mum lays hers out on the dining table and is always moaning about moving her design so will deffo pass this on to her
Thanks Maggie
