Thanks everyone for your concern. Hope that you manage to sort something out for your FIL Learning. It must be an awful worry for you and your OH and the rest of the family of course.
Meant to say last night that I love the bread bags. Really good makes. There are some people on here that are very clever with their hands.
Hugs to all that need them.

what kind of buttons are you looking for?
have you any you could repurpose into looking christmassy?
a bit of ribbon behind a button changes its look, or layering a couple ontop of each other

Good Morning.
Well I'm chairing a meeting with the council at lunch time. Should be interesting as I shall have to take my I.V. infusion pump with me. We are in an upstairs meeting room and there will be a number of wheelchair users, so I hope that there are no problems with the lift.

I don't know how you do it Stroppy! It's a nasty day here with blustery wind & torrential rain! Not going out.

Love the windy brolly pic
I have been told that i could fly with a certain holiday company as they allow one person per flight to use oxygen in flight with a letter from a Dr .
So we are looking into booking a holiday to see how i get on with it , getting quite excited to think i can fly again as i always loved it

That's good Von. You will be able to go a bit further afield.

Yes warmer weather & cheaper hols, we are loking at Maderia it looks lovely fingers crossed the Dr will say yes & sign my forms

Madera is lovely but is one great big mountain & prone to fog! Read up on it. Lovely place though.

I hope you can do it Von, if that's what you want to do.
You wouldn't get me on a plane unless I was under general anaesthetic!!
I learned last night from a friend who had a PE a month before me that she can't fly for longer than 2 hours unless she has injections before and after. She has to go to nuclear medicines dept. to be radiated for an X ray to see how her clots are going. I guess I'll have to do it when I reach the 6 month mark. I thought the clots dispersed in a few days but they can last for two years apparently!! No wonder I was still getting breathless, I thought I was just unfit!

Well I never knew that CG , like you I thought after a couple of weeks you were all clear.
Oh Von I do hope you get the thumbs up from the G.P and you can fly again, a nice warm break in the sunshine would do you the world of good.
Danielle has been for a photo shoot , wanna see my super model in the making

Aww isnt she lovely :smileyhappy
If i can fly it will make it much easier to visit hubbys Aunt in France too , im hopeful it will be ok.
Have you never been 'up' in your Sons plane CG ?

Thanks for the idea Merlin. I hadn't thought of that.
Maggie, I have let you have my name and address details. If you let me know how much I owe you. Many thanks.

Von - hope it all works out for you and that you are able to fly.
Consultant is being fab - bless him. Came to see me at home as he is as fed up with the situation as I am. He is arranging for the op to take place on Friday afternoon at the private hospital. I don't need to be there at the crack of dawn either. I can eat up to 9am and drink clear fluids up to 11am, and don't need to be at hossie until 2pm. He did ask me to take my own meds with me. He is hoping that if all goes well I can come home on Saturday morning.
Went to a meeting at the Council today - one of the items on the agenda was improving hospital services. We were all given feedback forms to fill in - mine is accompanied by 8 pages of text - well they asked us to tell them about our experiences.
Have been asked for feedback by the Clinical Commissioning Group too, so will have to work on that.
