Supermarket Delivery

I had my groceries delivered earlier today which included a box of 12 eggs

The driver opened the box and found one egg to be cracked

He left the box with me, as the other 11 are OK, but said I would be refunded for the whole box.

The driver told me that this is their normal practice with eggs, as breakages can happen in transit.

First time it has happened to me, but first class customer service.

Re: Supermarket Delivery

I don't do it often but it can be handy when the weather is awful & to have the heavy stuff brought to your door.:)

Re: Supermarket Delivery

And here, anything you don't like send it back, especially like some of the subs,  when you get finest instead of ordinary. Thumbs up from me,  that reminds me, must book my slot.

Re: Supermarket Delivery

I have never had home delivery - yet - but OH has finally got his date for his operation so will have to rely on home delivery for a few weeks as I don't drive and can't imagine doing all the shopping on the bus. I'm quite looking forward to trying it.

Re: Supermarket Delivery

we do try to make sure you get the very best, and spend a lot of time looking for the best fruit and veg..

I have done a few home shops myself, but seeing we are in the store I usually end up getting the shopping myself.

I do think it's a brilliant idea though . homeshop..

Re: Supermarket Delivery

We use A**A - the substitutions are often really strange - order roast beef and get corned beef.  Order toilet cleaner and get oven cleaner. No end of stuff seems to be out of stock. They excelled themselves a couple of weeks ago, delivery was booked for 2pm to 4pm. At 4:30 pm we had to go out and it still hadn't arrived. They then told me it was our fault for not being at home when they delivered.  I am still waiting for the store to contact me to explain what the problem was.

Re: Supermarket Delivery

Mr T always phones me if the driver is running late.

Also subs are usually fine, except once when I ordered printer ink and they substituted it for inks for a different printer.

Even the driver knew I wouldn`t want it and pointed it out at the time.

Re: Supermarket Delivery

Must admit that I hate food shopping as well.  It doesn't bother too much if I do it on my own but it's a nightmare if I have my mum with me as it seems to take forever.  One thing about it though - she always says that it's an outing for her.  I wonder why I always have a headache when I take my mum for a food shop.
