Say hello if you're online

the number of views compared to posts shows that lots of people pop in to look ( I know I do!), so here's your chance to say hello if you're lurking/browsing.

Re: Say hello if you're online

No, it's not the end Bryn...I'll keep it going for you for  bit longer!

How's the ear Chris? better? I bet you miss the swimming don't you?

I have tomorrow off and I'm going to make some sock snowmen, I have 11 orders in for them after only showing him off for a morning in work! I am making them for the donkey sanctuary near here as they need money to get themselves started off properly. I hope we can raise as much as we did last year £300!!!! but I'm not sure peoples hearts are in it. I won't be taking them in until the beginning of Dec, as people are not in the Christmas mode yet are they?

How about you guys....done any shopping yet for your presents? I have them all as I hate shopping when the shops are mental.

Re: Say hello if you're online

Thanks for asking CB.  The pain is a lot better but I still can't hear properly yet.  I have to go back to see my GP on the 30th which is a week on Friday.  I can't swim until he says I can.  I'm like a bear with a sore head.  Also, I've got terrible catarrh mainly on the left side - my left ear is the bad one.  The doc has given me a nasal spray and he told me that steam treatment would help.  He has allowed me to go to the health club I go to but only so I can sit in the steam room which does help to clear it a bit.  It's six weeks now and it's driving me mad.  I've Googled perforated ear drums and it can take around 6 to 8 weeks so I'm hoping it's better soon.

I've bought a few things for Christmas.  We are going on one of our trips again tomorrow.  It's my favourite one as we are going to Bury.  They have a brilliant market there.  We need to get some more things for the girls for Christmas and it's Grace's birthday just after Christmas.  We'll get some shopping done tomorrow.  I should imagine that my purse will be a bit lighter.

Re: Say hello if you're online

I'm suitably shattered after our day out.  We bought a dress and pants for Grace for either Christmas or her birthday.  I bought myself a new pair of slippers and we got some more wool so that I can make another blanket or two.  At least we should be warm come winter.  A couple of our neighbours have been really good to us lately so we bought them a black pudding which they were delighted with.  Holds hand up and asks can I go to bed soon please pretty please?

Re: Say hello if you're online

The snowmen look really effective - I think I'll have a go and then make some with my class if I can find socks cheap enough.

Glad to see the thread is still going as I do like to pop in every now and again.

Re: Say hello if you're online

I've watched the video instructions but are you using ankle socks or full length ones?

Re: Say hello if you're online

I have recently bought a rather gorgeous black sock witch. She is now sat in my car keeping guard.

I guess you can use whatever size sock you want.  I used large childrens socks.

Perhaps you could use sand in a plastic bag!

Re: Say hello if you're online

Been to see the doc again about my ear.  The infection has totally cleared and so has the perforation.  However, I still can't hear properly in said ear so the doc is arranging for me to have a hearing test.  My GP is also an ENT specialist and I will have to see him at that clinic when I've had the hearing test.  I can start swimming again in three weeks time but I have to use ear plugs and wear a swimming hat.

Re: Say hello if you're online

It's been a long old job Chris, I bet you're totally fed up with it now!  At least the pain has gone. 🙂

Re: Say hello if you're online

You're right CG.  I am fed up with it now.  It's been just over seven weeks since it started.  As you rightly say, the pain has gone.  At least I can sleep properly now which I couldn't do at first.

Thanks for your concern.

Re: Say hello if you're online

I know where you're coming from Merc but I have been allowed to go in just to sit in the steam room which has helped with the catarrh.  I just can't wait to start swimming again as it's affecting my joints now.

Re: Say hello if you're online

good evening peeps....here we are sitting in the lounge, all wrapped up warm and cosy.

It's been a lovely sunny day hasn't it? I even managed to pluck up the energy to make OH a bread and butter pudding for being a good lad and after me whilst I was poorly.

mind you, I'm pooped now though.
