Well I am back from the GP appointment.
As predicted the GP doesn't think that I am diabetic as my fasting glucose level is less than 10, but since 3 separate hospital consultants have phoned him up and insisted that I am, he has reluctantly given me a prescription for tablets to lower my blood sugar. I have to go back in a month. He has also reluctantly given me a prescription for the generic equivalent of caesten cream - doesn't cure the thush, but helps with the symptoms.
The A & E department have added a fasting blood test to my daily blood test, so there will be a check on how things are going - just means drawing an extra few mls of blood every morning.

Afternoon all. Sorry that you're not feeling too well Gina. Hope that you feel better soon. Hope that your back feels better soon Maggie.
Stroppy, what kind of GP have you got? Why won't he have that you are diabetic? Three consultants have told him that you are. Honestly, some doctors annoy me.
We've had a busy day today. I went for my swim first thing and when I got back, we went for our flu jabs. We've changed the duvet cover on my mum's bed. I've changed the curtains and quilt cover in my bedroom. We've got a whole heap of washing done. I'll get my bedroom done tomorrow afternoon after we've got back from doing a food shop. I'm going out for lunch on Thursday with a couple of friends. The hairdresser is coming on Friday so we've got a busy week all round.

Books - I am sure that it is all down to cost, and the way that budgets are allocated / organised.
A & E are brilliant, and nothing is too much trouble for them. but they are restricted in what they can do as the hospital make cuts to reduce costs.
Even the orthopaedic department are restricted as to what they can do. I know that the orthopaedic consultant had a real fight to get the theatre time for my spinal laser surgery. Without his help I would have had to go to the US to get the surgery done.

I agree that it is down to costs but it is annoying when you keep getting pushed from pillar to post.

evening everyone, it's a lovely evening here, sun is shining still. My day off has vanished as most Monday's do. Going out on Wed with a mate from work, haven't a clue what to do though, I'm not keen on shopping but can't think of anything else she would like to do. I think a picnic and a walk on the beach would be better while this nice weather lasts.

Glad that your feeling a little bit better Gina. I hate having a cold. I tend to feel rotten for over a week when I have one.
Honestly, Stan, it never rains but what it pours. Must admit that our washing machine has served us well. We must have had this one for about 13 years and it's still going strong. After having said that, it will probably conk out tomorrow. I hope not.
