Not really related to your question but just wanted to let you know how popular your muffin recipe is round here
I recently made some chocolate and cherry ones and this weekend, lemon and poppy seed with lemon icing, all very well received!

No could never be fed up of FHG ............................ all my pals live in this tiny little lappy and would be lost without you all
Think summer is always quieter peepes away, kids off, family visiting, grandparent duties, covering others holidays at work but all will soon return to its usual chaos ................

>>>>>>>>>>fumbles about in dark looking for light switch >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ah, there we are.
Emerging from 4 days of District Nurses bearing large needles, least said and all that.
Well hello CB and Stan, the 2 Welshies together!
Don't know about fed up, but yes, it has changed and we are now without a few larger than life characters who contributed a lot, (in the laughter department). Where's Streety? and Pix? And the girl whose avatar was a ferret with its head in a beer bottle. Wizi Lizi too. Don't post.
Everything changes with time and we just have to make the best of it. imo.

Hello peeps. As rainy said, a lot of the 'old' ones have gone now for various reasons. The one who can't be mentioned any more, numpty, now she was a laugh wasn't she, so much fun. Quite a few can't be here very late as they have to be up early for work (bovine included a lot of the time).
We don't seem able to think of many good things to discuss either. And of course, the summer is a busy time for a lot of people.

Well my excuse is technology - great when it works, a real pain otherwise.
My much loved Dell ultrabook died, so I now have a lap-top with Windows 8.1 and I hate it. It is also much much slower than my old one was, and it feels like wading through treacle. Other than that I have a new smartphone - trying to access FHG on that is like watching a geriactric snail!. The screen is so small that if I zoom in until the text is readable there are only about 6 words on the screen and I have to keep scrolling and scrolling. As for trying to type anything that might be remotely readable by you lovely folks, well it will require an awful lot of pratcice!
Things will pick up again when the nights draw in and folks aren't off on holiday or out in the garden.

Waves to all
My excuse is the similar to Stroppy's ....... technology & lack of time
Little Miss keeps me busy, Hubby is under my feet 24/7 atm too while he's recovering (give me a toddler anytime )
I've recently got a posh new lappy too & I can't make head nor tail of windows 8 so it hardly get turned on at the moment 😞 ..... I am guilty of going on FB more but thats really because its easy to access on my phone or tablet & trying to post or read FHG on either of them is nigh on impossible 😞
......... I still lubs ya all though

Also guilty of being on Facebook a lot as I have joined several quilting & fabric groups that are very lively. Not abandoning here though. Been busy sewing for Days for Girls too so not on line as much as I have been.

Morning all. I'd miss FHG if we all stopped posting. I do miss a few of the posters though like Kitten and Hightara to name but two. I never use FB. In fact, I closed my account on there a while back.
Things will get back to normal in a few weeks.
BTW, hope that your hubbie is feeling better CK.

You two with windows 8, stroppy and erm....erm....erm....sorry I can't remember who it was now, oh yes, CK. I got a new lappy with windows 8 and I hated it so my son in law changed it to windows seven. Of course I've no idea how....it's all magic to me, like electricity and airplanes but just to say, it CAN be done by somebody 'what knows magic'!

I still nip in daily... but lots of folk have moved on or been chucked out lol!

I love FHG and the friends I have made on here. I no longer use F/B. I love it when we have Nostalgia threads but can't think of any. There was someone called Elphaba (think I've spelt it right) where has she gone to?
11-08-2014 9:12 AM
Hello, here I am, late as usual!
I'm not fed up with FHG but I know what you mean Captain, a lot of people have moved on
and don't come on here very often, or at all, for various reasons. There used to be so much
hilarity, daft silly stuff I know, but it made me laugh.
I rarely get on here in the evenings unless Hubby's out as he's a computer hog and I have
to bribe him with marmalade sandwiches or blackberry shortcake or rice pudding to get him
off! Then he hovers about waiting to come back. He's on a computer for much of the day at
work and you'd think he'd be sick of it, but when he comes home he writes letters, writes books,
trawls his footie forums and noses around facebook. Then when he's done all that he mucks about
with photos, train timetables and allsorts. So there's no hope for me.

Elph is fine & on Facebook.:) I am over there more because of all the groups I am in. Quilting & the like. They are very chatty & quick moving because we share a common interest. Not mentioning the games! lol As people have said it's not the same in here now. It's still nice to chat to friends & pass the time of day & the swaps are fun but it's all a bit slow. All the naughty, risqué people have gone or been removed which has made it a bit stagnant. I am still posting though & happy to do the swaps & MDCC.:) Not sure how we can get some life into poor old FHG really.
