searching for a handy kitchen gadget i came across one of these........... how ever did i manage all these years..... okay own up what gadgets have you bought and resigned to the back of the cupboard
Getting food stuck onto your knife blade can be annoying enough to hinder even the most professional chefs, but if you use the Glide Blade Cleaner, you no longer need to let this get in your way

did you notice how much that waste of money was...i do not buy gadgets as i know they will be wasted .i just stick to several well used kitchen items.

What a waste of money , that little task can easily be done by using another knife .

whatever will they think of next, just wipe it on the side of the bowl or use another knife, I am still amazed at the supermarkets selling fresh sliced mushrooms, how long does that take.

The pre- packed ready peeled /sliced veg i can see the need for. For people like MIL who had a stroke & cant do such things herself now

Anything sliced for a few hours is sure to dry out, however well wrapped they are.
Have you seen those little strawberry hullers? They don't grip the hull as well as your fingers do, they're useless!!

I really hadn't thought of that, maybe there is a use for them.

Sorry to disagree, but I have a strawberry huller and it's absolutely brilliant, but it wasn't one of the really cheap ones. It was one of these http://www.lakeland.co.uk/14023/Chefn-StemGem .
I don't generally like or buy gadgets, but I do like the ones that go the job properly, like this one, my zester and my potato ricer.

Somebody bought me one of those things that you put herbs and spices in
and shake them up to make a topiing for, well, anything I suppose. I think
it was promoted by one of those tv chefs.
I've never used it, I love the shape of it, colour of it (purple), look of it but
I cannot be bothered to faff about chopping herbs up and dropping them
into it to shake then tipping them out again and having to wash the thing
up. I just chop them and whizz them around in a bowl or on chopping board
with a spoon or something.

I saw a cherry destoner being used the other day and was amazed , i have never seen one before. Simple neat gadget for an annoying time consuming job!.
