Cat Speying

My cat was speyed last Friday, and I think I got a good deal.

Pre Op check at local vet clinic

Speying and id microchip, including collection and return by animal ambulance

Post Op check at local clinic 3 days after Op

Total cost  £79.50

Anyone any idea how long it will take for her fur to grow back.  I forgot to ask the vet

Sounds a good price for all the things you had done,

The fur should grow back really quickly probably a couple of weeks.

She didn`t seem over bothered by it.

When they brought her home and I let her out of her carrier, the first place she headed for was her food bowl.

I can hardly see the scar, as they used disolvable stitches under the skin.

Ours was done about 3 weeks ago, no more unplanned litters.

Fur has grown back so not noticable unless you are looking for it.

Didn't need to go back to have stitches removed either - little sausage pulled them out herself 😮

Now have to save up to have her 3 boys done when they are big enough, all of them are staying here.

If you ask the Cats Protection League they usually have a contract with a vet who does it cheaply. Then you can make them a donation to cover the costs and a bit extra and still save money.

Hadn't thought about asking them, thank you

I knew we would have to pay out for them to be done and glad they are all boys, because the girlie cats cost more to be done. Mama cat was only staying with us as a favour to a relative - who now doesn't want her back 😞  So I went from one elderly lady cat ( now over the Rainbow Bridge ) to 4 young cats - Mum was under a year when she had the kittens.

I think the PDSA have a similar scheme too.

You have to be on certain benefits for the PDSA to help,  Mama cat's owner is so he sorted out getting her done but I am not so have to pay for the boys 😞
