I average about four page views per item unless it's a guitar or a computer table in which case it could creep up to about forty. I used to get despondant after having put in a great deal of time and effort to sell my items. Ultimately you are selling yourself i.e. that your item is the bee's knees as opposed to your competitor's item but when it boils down to it, if there are 80,00 punters out there at any one time in the United Kingdom, why would they look at your item assuming you had what they wanted?
Does anybody know how many people are on ebay over the weekend, or is that a trade secret only known to the Mods? How many people are registered on eBay. Depending on the answer it would either encourage you or discourage you. Comments from Alan?

Knowing how many are registered would be very, very misleading because there are umpteen thousands registered who never bother with ebay now.
Page views are meaningless as are watchers. What's the point of knowing you have 112 watchers and none of then have (yet) made a bid? Why DO these people put items on a watch list? Are they just nosey? Have they got a similar item and want to know its (ebay) worth? Are they thinking of selling one? I find it annoying, how about you?
Perhaps things like this is one of the reasons why people have deserted ebay?:-

Re watchers
I do buy, not just watch
Watching is something I do to see what is what in the world of antiques - it's my interest. I buy from probably about 25% of what I'm watching, if I'm in a buying phase
I wouldn't deter watchers, but I have not sold on eBay (except once, a piece of furniture & it was so very stressful that I'm loath to use it as a selling medium

hello cee dee, I like you find it annoying when you have say 12 watchers on an item and it goes off with no bids or if you are extremely lucky only one bid !
I like you wonder what is the point in watching if you have no intention of bidding.

My post was provoked by an item getting a huge number of watchers, none of whom bid and the item sold to bidders who were not "watching". Even now, there's two items with more than 25 watchers with many other items with watchers well in to double figures.
It's crazy, what's the idea?
