The problem is I have a very large cherry tree that round the trunk has four well established gooseberry bushes .
Now at the moment they are laden with fruit but they won't be for much longer if I can't find a way to protect them from the bluetits who seem to have taken a liking to them.
I can't really net them due to the position around the tree so is ther anything else any of you can recommend bearing in mind we do want to use the fruit when its ripe.

Maybe a fox? I know our raspberry canes get broken really easy, the flippin fox wee's in the same bushes every day, our poor little xmas tree is sufferin cos of himX-(....think I might get one of those plastic frogs that croaks when the sensor is broken!
I bet it stinks too.:-) I only have two gooseberry bushes but get enough fruit for me.:-) Same with the raspberries which I have in a big pot.
