Halloween will be coming up and the shops seem to get more themed things in every year. I see the dummies wearing their gruesome outfits that people can hire. I went to a Halloween party once and dressed up in a Black floaty dress and had my face painted like a CAT!!!!!. Ha ha such fun. I remember the fun we had as a child but wondered what others think of this season?. Do you go to parties?, or have parties of your own ( those with children). As long as its kept light and fun and not grizzly i think its ok. I used to buy sweets for trick or treaters but now live in flats where they do not come in so much. I know its not everyones thing but some enjoy it.

Where we are (Scotland) it is known as guising, from the fact that you went out in a disguise, ie dressed up. It could not be seen to be begging as you had to do a "party piece" to earn your reward(tell a joke/ sing a song). No money was involved it was monkey nuts, satsumas, apples, fun size sweets and the like. Now I make home made toffee apples for the kids who come to my door.
I am going to be away this year and I will miss it, especially the awful jokes!!! 🙂

Doing the shop window was great fun, especially getting Bob into his biostrath tube!! My witch has got pumpkin soup and witch hazel round her and the black cat has got a moon and stars oil burner.

My youngest did a few trick or treat rounds with next doors kids when they were younger, he had a black cat outfit and would talk the socks off anyone who answered the door!
I was always in the background tho.

Don't bother answering the door these days as my cats get spooked and I only took one of them in about 3 weeks ago, he'd been abandoned, my cousin found him in a bit of a mess and to cut a long story short, he's living here now.

OOhh Dazy poor cats. We have a Fancy dress shop down the road from me and i saw this dummy in a nurses outfit yesterday ooohhh lol enought to frighten the living daylights out of anyone, especially if their off to hospital, holding up a syringe and everything haaa haaa. Its quite scary but people flock there in their droves!!!!!!!..

Dazypichu your lovely if you took in that cat!!, im an avid cat lover and they need love and attention. Bless you. Well done.!!!!.

He's a sweetie. Cousin had seen him wandering round a derelict estate near where she works and he was getting thinner and thinner. So she popped him in the back of her van and rang me! Took him to the vet next day, he weighed little more than a bag of sugar!
He is now cat shaped again and is a very happy little boy:-)

I am in 2 minds about Halloween , like making a meal like "eyeballs with worms in blood sauce" , burning my Yankee halloween candles but the trick and treat with complete strangers I struggle with.
