I have an Aunt who is 75, and lives on her own, she doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't eat chocolate or use bubble bath, she knits her own hats and scarves, she doesn't sew or paint, she doesn't wear perfume or makeup. She has a car, but has all the bits that go with it, triangle, torch etc. She spends a lot of time in the garden, but we have done the garden thing for years and have even started having some of the presents we have given being given back to us as presents.
She lives in an old cottage, that is full to the gunnels with furniture and old china and paintings so anything modern would look out of place.
We have always given a garden centre token but last year the look we got said - oh dear not another token.
We are at a complete loss what to get. H E L P

How about a nice glossy book on antiques since she seems to have a houseful - she might prefer to sell a few things rather than leave them all to you. Or Wool, wool and more wool.
Or
Just ensure that anything you buy you wouldn't turn up your nose at when it is recycled back to you. So nice candles, burners, vases, sweets, cake etc. Really opens up the field.

A bit late for this year but next year if you take a few nice photos of her garden. you could have them transfered on to a set of mugs or coasters. I did this for my MIL & she loved them. Another thing I got for her was a really pretty house number plate - she loved that as well.

Jilly, I like that idea, I might sneak out there in the spring and do that without her knowing good idea for next year. Her house doesn't have a number, but I like the phot idea.

Thank you lovely peeps for all your kind suggestions, I think I will be able to get something now, it has been like this for years and has been very difficult, I wish I had done this before.

Coming a bit late to this - but does she have a dvd player? You can get DVDs of places like Wisley Garden - sort of Wisley through the seasons. Or DVDs of Geoff Hamilton's programs. Give her something to look at in the depths of winter.

Vistaprint are advertising personalised calendars - you can upload your own photos, put on family birthdays etc. Not terribly expensive either.

How about a years membership to the RHS Royal Horticultural Society), not only will she get a magazine, but free tickets for Chelsea Flower Show too and a couple of other places too, Wisley I think.
I know you said she doesn't read but she could look at the glorious pictures.
