I dont mean the ones above the posting box ie this sort
I have a selection of smilies that work fine on other forums, but dont work on this one. I see that other people manage to post them, so what is the difference? What am I doing wrong?

Give it another go, copy image - right click on it
then paste in message box, the image will then appear
forget the buttons

There's an 'insert image' option in the menu bar at the top towards the right hand side

I just use a smilies site and copy and paste as mine sometimes work and sometimes don't.

Thats the site I was trying to post from ed.
Is everyone saying that you have to add the code into the "insert image" box? I cant work out how to. NB I dont have the images saved on my computer.
Sits in corner with dunces hat (if I could post the image)

are you saying the forums own smilies arent there for you?
maybe you have to have them saved for you to upload as a file/pic

No, the forums own ones work fine, but I find that ones suplied by forums are a bit restrictive and I have a list of sites with smilies that usually I can copy and paste onto forums. It just doesnt work on this one. I must be doing something wrong, but I dont know what.

You can easily save an image on your pc - that way it remains with you
The site you have chosen says if you click on a emoticon, it adds it to the clip board - your pc's temp memory so in theory you just click paste into the message board and up pops your code - for whatever reason it didn't happen when I tried it
you could copy and past the link in the box given atop each smiley, but I had to refresh each time to get it to change
There are 3 types of code options with 'radio buttons' to click on for the type of code depending on which board you are on
Not all options display on every type of board, and far as I last heard, lithium boards didn't really support

i think its the way that ebay has the forum set up
there are restrictions on things they dont want to be posted easily
have you tried a different browser , to see if this happens with them all

It's a very poor set up on here & just a pain to post photos.

Click on the link I gave you Bookworm find your image then copy and paste it onto your message.

its probably a cost measure that is part of the ebay/lithium contract
the liveworld forums were different but so was ebay back then,
they did try to change things but not enough
