Can you help me identify one houseplant, and one outdoor plant please?

The big spiky one is a succulent that grows in a spiral (and currently has a flowering spike), and the other is a cutting with triangular fleshy stems.

Thanks!

The first one looks a lot like a carnation or pink.

The flowering stripy one looks like a Mother-in-law's Tongue (Sansevieria).  It looks extremely healthy (and needs a new pot!)

Hi

I've got a variagated mother in laws tongue, and its not like that 🙂

The triangular stemmed plant I've just discovered is a perennial Mesembryanthemum.

No idea on first pic, but second looks like Aloe variegata/zebra or tiger plant. Flowering spikes are pinky/orange.

Yes, second one is an aloe, very good for burns etc. but no idea what the first one is.

The first one grows outside around here on the South Coast. No idea what it's called though. The other one is an Aloe.

Could the first one be Rock Samphire?

Thanks! (and to everyone else too Cat Happy)

I sussed the fig one last night - I just love the shape of the stems.

I live not too far away from Dartmouth, and nicked that cutting from a plant that was growing rampantly down the walled garden of a cottage there.  I just need to suss out how to plant the cutting.

It grows everywhere here to in Dorset. Glad you got it sorted.

Having warmer winters on the south coast, must be why it survives.  It's odd I've not seen it before though.

That's the one, thank you 🙂

It has three 'babies' growing in the soil, can I leave them there?

You can or you can carefully break them off & plant it gritty compost.

Thanks 🙂

If I break the fig plant into smaller sections, and do the same, would they root?  (I love plants, but I'm no good at this kind of thing!)

Re: Can you help me identify one houseplant, and one outdoor plant please?

Thanks, I got no sand here to make gritty soil, so it looks like I'll have to go to the beach tomorrow - I hope I don't get washed away all for the sake of a plant cutting Cat Tongue

Wash it well or the salt will kill it.
